Most Wilton Manors homes went up between the 1940s and the 1960s, and their wood doors and frames have stood in South Florida humidity ever since: jamb feet rotted, drywood termites in the frames, hardware rusted on the river lots, French and jalousie doors that no longer close tight. We rebuild the frame, plane and rehang the original where it can be saved, fit stainless hardware, and install the impact door you chose when it cannot.

Homes on the forks of the Middle River with docks, sliders and French doors to the water, damp ground and salt in the air. Hardware rusts, sills rot on the water side, dock steps go at the ends, and the lots sit in a flood zone that changes what a big job needs. We rebuild the sills, reseal the sliders, fit stainless hardware and say so on the call.
The 1940s and 1950s cottages, many of them frame, with lap siding, wood windows, porches and original doors on small shaded lots. Doors bind in settled frames, siding rots along the bottom course, porch posts go at the base, and drywood termites take the old frames. We splice new wood into old, match the lap and the reveal and keep the original where it can be saved.
Block ranches from the 1950s and 1960s, updated and rebuilt homes with impact doors and sliders, and the townhome communities. The work is adjustment, rollers, seals, texture-matched patches and the turnover list, with a scope in writing where an association wants one.
Age, water and a lack of air. Most of the city went up between the 1940s and the 1960s, a lot of it frame, on small lots the hedges and trees keep shaded; the river keeps the air damp, siding close to the ground wicks every rain, and the old door frames are the drywood termite's favorite address. The repairs are small and steady, and they match what is there.
Doors, siding, trim, drywall, plaster patches, fences, porches, dock steps, rot, caulk and the small list are handyman work. Electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and roofing are Florida's licensed trades and a porch beam that carries the roof is an engineer's call, so we name them on the call and tell you who to call. The licensed pest company treats; we rebuild afterward.
Most Wilton Manors jobs are priced on the call from a description or a photo, in writing, before anything is scheduled. A wall of siding, a rebuilt frame or a bath refresh gets a look first and a written scope. What you approve is what you pay.
Usually, yes. A 1950s solid wood door, planed, rehung, sealed at the bottom and refitted with stainless hardware, outlasts a new hollow-core door and keeps the cottage looking right; the frame is rebuilt where termites or rot got in. When the slab itself is gone, a new impact door is the better buy, and we tell you on the call.
Tell us the list, or text a photo of the worst item. Most small repairs are priced on the call, in writing, in under ten minutes.
A Kaminskiy-certified technician comes with a stocked truck and works through the list in one visit wherever the parts allow.
A door swap, a rotted frame or a bathroom refresh gets a visit and a written scope before anything starts. No surprises at the house.
The work area is left clean and every repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty, on paper.
Florida does not license handymen; it licenses contractors, and under state law anyone paid to repair or improve a structure is one, with only casual minor work under a set small amount exempt. Structural work, roofing, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical are reserved for state-licensed contractors, and Broward issues its own specialty certificates. Kaminskiy Care and Repair is bonded and insured with Kaminskiy-certified, background-checked technicians; we work the carpentry, doors, siding, drywall, fences, rot and finish side of the list and send the licensed trades to the right license.
Wilton Manors builds to the Florida Building Code as Broward adopts it, and the county amendment lets general maintenance and repairs under a set cost go ahead without a permit when the Building Official reads them that way: a rehung door, a run of siding, a sill, a porch post base, a patched wall. We did not find a city handout on small repairs, so for a bigger job we check with the building office first. A replacement exterior door is permitted work with a product approval, and the 2026 state exemption is the city's decision on request, never on a flood-zone lot, so we do not promise it.
The streets on the forks of the Middle River sit in a flood zone, where the state small-project exemption does not apply and a repair large enough to count as a substantial improvement brings the flood rules into play; a rebuilt sill or a run of siding is not that, and we say on the call when a job might be. In the high-velocity hurricane zone a replacement exterior door needs a permit and a Florida or Miami-Dade approval that passed the impact tests, or a shutter, and a big-box door without it will not pass, so we check the approval and the size before you order. Most of the city has no association; the townhome communities do.

Usually, yes. A sound wood door can be planed, rehung, sealed at the bottom and refitted with stainless hardware, and its frame rebuilt where termites or rot got in. If the slab itself is gone, a new impact door is the better buy, and we tell you on the call.
Florida has no handyman license and reserves electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, roofing and structural work for state-licensed contractors, which we send to the right license. Carpentry, doors, siding, drywall, fences, rot and finish work are ours: Kaminskiy Care and Repair is bonded and insured and every technician is Kaminskiy-certified and background checked.
Usually not for maintenance and like-for-like repairs under the Broward set cost, which covers most siding, door, sill and drywall work. A replacement exterior door, a rebuild into framing, or a big job on a river lot in the flood zone is where we check with the city first and tell you on the call.
Usually. We match the width, the lap and the exposure of the existing boards, replace only the courses that went soft and paint to the house. If the profile is no longer milled we show you the closest match before we start.
