Rotted fascia, soffit, jamb bottoms and patio posts on the canal lots cut out and made sound again, then painted so the repair disappears. You see the price first.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair rebuilds rotted and termite-eaten wood on Royal Palm Beach homes: the fascia and soffit on the 1970s canal-lot houses of the original village, the patio cover beams and posts, the garage and entry door jambs the sprinkler soaks, the deck boards and railings on the canal, and the pergola and trim in the newer gated communities. Every piece is cut back to a sound edge, rebuilt in the original profile, back-primed, painted to the house or the association color, and the overflow or the sprinkler that fed it is corrected. Termites are the pest company's job and come first; the carpentry is ours and comes second. You have the number in writing before a ladder goes up, and the crew drives out from West Palm Beach.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced in writing before we start.
A canal behind the lot, a wet season that keeps the ground soft from June to October, and fifty years of gutters on the original village: Royal Palm Beach wood rots at the fascia above and the posts and jambs below. We take it back to a sound edge, rebuild, paint, and shut off the water.

Primed, Painted & SealedThe village notices peeling paint and rotten wood on a fence, and a soft fascia is the same story one level up. Fascia, soffit and jamb repairs are priced on the call, in writing; a patio cover or a deck on the canal gets a look and a written scope first.

Canals and gutters. The original village is laced with canals, the water table sits close under the lawns, and the wet season keeps the ground soft for five months, so every patio post, deck post and jamb bottom stays damp from below. Above, fifty years of gutters on the 1960s and 1970s houses overflow onto the fascia every afternoon in summer. The houses are block and stucco, so the wood is exactly those pieces: fascia, soffit, trim, jambs, posts and decks. We look at the gutter ends, the post bases and the sprinkler heads first.
Damp sand is subterranean termite country, and Royal Palm Beach is damp sand with canals through it. Native and Formosan subterranean colonies tunnel up a patio post, a deck post or the block in dirt tubes and leave soil packed inside the wood they hollow out. Drywood termites, the other kind, sit inside dry trim with no soil at all and drop hard pellets. Which one you have is the pest company's call, and so is the treatment; our part is the wood, done once the treatment is finished.
Cut it out. A filler patch on a fascia board or a post base holds until the next wet season. We cut back to sound wood, splice or replace with the same profile, prime every face including the end grain, set the piece, caulk and paint it to match, and on a post we get the base out of the wet ground on a proper standoff.
Water the grass, not the garage jamb: a sprinkler head that wets the house every other morning is the most common cause we find. Gutters get cleaned in May here, downspouts get an elbow that throws water off the slab, and the mulch stays below the stucco line so nothing bridges to the wood. Paint is the last layer: redo it on a schedule, before it fails.
Block homes from the 1960s and 1970s on canal lots with the original fascia, soffit, door frames and patio covers. Fifty years of gutters have rotted the fascia behind the overflow, the patio beams go soft at the ends, and the posts and deck boards on the canal never dry. We rebuild the boards, reset the posts on standoffs and fix the gutter end that caused it.
Homes from the 1980s and 1990s with wood fascia, pop-out sills and garage door jambs on the slab. The sun checks the paint on the west side, the rain gets in behind it, and sprinkler-soaked jamb bottoms feed the subterranean termites. New jamb bottoms, new fascia, and the water turned away.
Gated streets with foam trim and almost no exposed wood, which means the rot is in the few wood pieces left: clad window frames, door jambs on the slab, a pergola, an outdoor kitchen. We photograph the detail before we cut so the match is exact for the association.
Twenty minutes east on Okeechobee is our West Palm Beach office, whose crew covers the village; the West Palm Beach dry rot and wood rot repair page covers the county permit rule, the state WDO form and the city's historic districts.
A fascia board, a sill or a trim piece is priced on the call, in writing. A bigger rebuild gets a look first and a written price before anything starts.
We cut back to sound wood and probe how far the rot really goes. If it runs further than the photo showed, you hear it before we go further, with the price.
New wood primed on all sides, caulked, painted to match, and the water path that caused it fixed: the drip edge, the flashing, the gutter end, the sprinkler.
The work area is cleaned before we leave, and every rot repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty.
Royal Palm Beach says plainly that most work on a house needs a village building permit. The code it enforces leaves room for an ordinary minor repair done with the building official's okay and no permit, with a hard stop at any structural beam or load-bearing support; paint is always free of it. The village also has a request form for the new state exemption, but the form itself rules out structural work and anything in a flood hazard area, and the county holds the whole county is one, so nothing on this page promises it. For a bigger job we put the question to the village first.
The buyer's lender in Royal Palm Beach will want the state WDO form, filled in by a licensed pest control company: live termites, evidence, damage, and the fungus that rots wood, all in one report. What the form cannot tell anyone is how deep the damage goes, and it says so in capital letters. Email it to us with the address and the fascia, posts, jambs and deck boards on it come back priced; the pest company handles whatever needs treating and signs off again when our work is done.
Royal Palm Beach writes its standards into its code: a wood fence may not sag or keep rotten wood and has to be painted, and a peeling, rotted fascia on the street side draws the same kind of notice. The newer communities add an association that wants the repair to match. Matching the existing trim keeps a repair clear of most forms; a new profile or a new color is where the paperwork starts, and we supply the materials list for it.

Call 561-220-5884Call before lunch and a fascia board, a jamb bottom or a post base is usually priced before the afternoon storm, and the West Palm Beach crew is out within days. A patio cover or a canal deck is walked first, then written up.
Yes, in the right order: the licensed pest company treats, then we cut out the hollowed fascia, soffit, trim and beam ends, plus any framing we can reach without opening a wall, and build them back. We do not treat, inspect or write the report.
This is carpentry, and carpentry is what a Kaminskiy technician does all day: fascia, soffit, sills, jambs, trim, posts, deck boards. We carry the license, bond and insurance for it. The line is structure: a patio roof beam or a deck ledger that has rotted gets flagged first, with a name for who should see it.
Three things: the amount of wood that turns out to be bad once the paint is off, the ladder height, and the paint or stain it has to disappear into. A post base and a full eave are not the same job. A photo by text gets you a written number before the visit is booked.
Usually. We cut the post back to sound wood, splice in a new base on a standoff that keeps it out of the wet ground, prime and paint it to match. If the post carries a roof and the rot has gone too far, we say so and tell you what it needs.
Paint, no. A small fascia, soffit or jamb repair put back like for like is the sort the building official can okay without one; anything that reaches framing is permitted work. The village's exemption request form exists, but it excludes flood-zone property and we do not count on it. For a bigger job we ask the village before we quote.
