Fascia, soffits, pergola beams, door jambs, deck boards and barn siding cut out and rebuilt with sound wood. Priced in writing before we start.

Plantation keeps its wood under big trees and next to water, which is where wood rots fastest, and Kaminskiy Care and Repair rebuilds it: fascia and soffits under the oak canopy on the east side, pergola and patio cover beams on the lake lots in Jacaranda, the deck boards and dock steps on the canals of Plantation Isles, the barn siding, paddock posts and shed trim on the acre lots of Plantation Acres. Cut back to sound wood, rebuilt, primed on every face, painted or stained to match, with the water path closed. A licensed pest company treats termites and writes the report; the rebuild is ours, priced in writing before anything starts.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced in writing before we start.
Shade keeps the wood wet, the canals and lakes keep the air wet, and the wet season keeps everything wet: Plantation rot is a drying problem. We rebuild the fascia, the pergola beams, the jambs and the deck boards with sealed new wood and give the water somewhere else to go.

Primed, Painted & SealedRot under a tree canopy does not pause for the dry season. Most Plantation fascia, soffit and jamb repairs are priced on the first call, in writing, by a Kaminskiy-certified technician; a pergola, a dock or a barn wall gets a look and a written scope first.

We answer in under three rings and get you priced and scheduled in minutes.

Shade and water. The mature oaks and ficus on the east side keep the fascia and soffits in shadow, so the morning dew and the afternoon rain never dry off and algae and fungus take the paint. The lakes and canals behind the houses in Jacaranda and Plantation Isles keep the air damp and the deck boards wet. Out in Plantation Acres the barns, sheds and paddock posts stand in wet ground all summer. Wet wood grows fungus, and subterranean termites find it.
The Formosan and the Asian subterranean termite are both established in Broward, one of only two counties in the country with both, and they travel from damp soil up a post, a jamb or a tree-shaded wall in mud tubes, packing the hollowed wood with carton. The West Indian drywood termite lives inside dry trim with no soil contact and leaves hard pellets under a pinhole. A licensed pest company identifies and treats; we rebuild the wood in the right order, after.
Beam ends rot first because the end grain drinks. We cut the end back to sound wood, splice in a new section with the same profile, seal the end grain, prime and paint or stain to match, and cap the top where the water sat. A rotted post base is cut off and a new section let in on a standoff so it never touches wet concrete again.
Trim the branches back off the roof edge so the fascia sees sun. Clean the gutters under the trees more than twice a year. Keep the sprinklers off the jambs and the posts, and keep the mulch below the block. In the Acres, keep the grade below the barn siding and the paddock boards. And walk the wood with a screwdriver each spring.
Homes from the 1950s and 1960s under the oldest trees in the city, many on canals. Fascia and soffits rot in the shade, deck boards and dock steps rot at the water, and the jambs wick off the walkways. We rebuild the boards, seal the ends and match the trim the city expects a repair to keep.
Association streets from the 1970s to the 1990s on lake and golf-course lots, with pergolas, patio covers and lanai door frames. Beam ends check and go soft, jambs rot at the slab, and the association expects the color to match. We splice the beams, rebuild the jambs and put the finish in writing for the form.
Acre lots with barns, sheds, paddocks and long runs of wood. Siding rots along the bottom course, posts rot at the ground, and shed trim goes behind the gutters. We replace the bottom boards, splice the posts and get the grade back below the wood.
Plantation is covered from the South Andrews Avenue office downtown, and the Fort Lauderdale dry rot and wood rot repair page has the Broward-wide picture: the county permit rule, the termite report and the condo inspections in plain words.
A fascia board, a sill or a trim piece is priced on the call, in writing. A bigger rebuild gets a look first and a written price before anything starts.
We cut back to sound wood and probe how far the rot really goes. If it runs further than the photo showed, you hear it before we go further, with the price.
New wood primed on all sides, caulked, painted to match, and the water path that caused it fixed: the drip edge, the flashing, the gutter end, the sprinkler.
The work area is cleaned before we leave, and every rot repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty.
Plantation says a permit is needed to erect, alter or repair a structure, and the Broward amendments to the Florida Building Code let general maintenance and repairs under a set cost go ahead without one when the Building Official reads them that way. A fascia board, a soffit section, a jamb or a beam end sits on the maintenance side of that line; a rebuild into rafter tails or a roof beam does not, and we check with the Building Department before a bigger job rather than guess. The 2026 state exemption is a request the city decides, and we do not promise it.
A Plantation sale comes with a wood-destroying organism inspection report on the state form from a licensed pest control company: live organisms, evidence, visible damage, and a line saying it is not a structural report. The pest company treats. The fascia, trim, door frames and deck boards on the damage list are our carpentry, and the inspector comes back when the buyer or the lender asks. Send the report and the address and we price from it.
Jacaranda, the lake communities and most of the newer streets are association communities, and a rot repair painted to match the scheme rarely needs a form; a changed trim profile or a new color sometimes does, and we put the materials and finish in writing for it. Plantation Acres has its own rules for the ranch lots and drainage easements, which matter for anything new and not for a rebuilt barn board, and the oldest east-side streets mostly have no association at all.

Call 954-787-3186Most fascia, soffit, jamb and trim repairs are priced on the first call and scheduled within days from our office on South Andrews Avenue. A pergola, a dock, a deck or a barn wall is looked at first, and the scope is in writing before anything starts.
Yes, after the pest company has treated the colony. We cut out the eaten fascia, beams, door frames, trim and the framing we can reach, rebuild it with new wood and paint it. Treatment and the report are theirs; the rebuild is ours.
Yes. Beam ends, posts, fascia, soffits, jambs, siding and deck boards are carpentry, and Kaminskiy is licensed, bonded and insured, so a splice into a rafter tail or a post is fine too. A beam that carries a roof over a room is named before anyone opens a wall.
How much wood comes out once it is opened, how many pieces are involved, and whether we are matching paint or stain. A jamb bottom and a run of barn siding are different jobs. Text a photo and the price comes back in writing before anything is scheduled.
Yes. We replace the bottom courses of siding, splice the posts above the rot, rebuild the trim and door frames and get the grade back below the wood. A new barn is not our lane, and we say so if that is what it needs.
Usually not for a like-for-like repair under the Broward maintenance threshold, which is most fascia, soffit, jamb and beam-end work; Plantation does ask for a permit to repair a structure beyond that, and we check with the city before a bigger job. The 2026 state exemption is the city's call on request, never in a flood zone, so we do not count on it.
