Posts reset on the slope, wood matched, sagging gates rehung square. Priced on the call, usually finished in one visit.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair repairs wood fences and gates across the Hollywood Hills, from Laurel Canyon and the Bird Streets to Beachwood Canyon, Whitley Heights and the streets off Mulholland. Posts rotted at the ground are reset in fresh concrete, broken pickets and rails are matched, and gates that drag are rehung square, usually in one visit. You get the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled, and we keep every board that is still sound. Since 2005, from our office on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced before we come out.
Steep lots, narrow streets and the dry winds that come through the canyons every fall wear a Hollywood Hills fence down. We reset the posts, re-plumb the run, and rehang the gate so it latches with one hand. Same fence, standing straight.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every fence and gate repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty, in writing, and is done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
Slope and wind. Almost every Hollywood Hills lot is on a hillside, and a fence on a slope carries its own weight downhill. Irrigation keeps the posts wet at grade, one post rots through, and a section racks; the dry winds through the canyons in the fall finish it. The fix is a deeper post in fresh concrete and a re-plumbed run, not a new fence.
The Hollywood Hills are in the City of Los Angeles: a wood fence needs no building permit unless it is over ten feet, and the zoning code keeps a front-yard fence to three and a half feet and a side or rear fence to six. Hillside lots have grading rules for anything new. A like-for-like repair changes nothing, and we check before building anything new.
Reset posts and matching pickets fix most fences for a fraction of the cost of a new one, and that is the work we do. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl and iron are not our lane. If that is what the fence needs, we say so on the call, and we still fix the gate and the sections that can be saved.
A pool gate should close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches up. That is the standard in California's Swimming Pool Safety Act, and it is the first thing we check on a pool fence. The gap the dog found at the bottom is a rail and a picket, fixed in the same visit.
Steep lots with fences on the downhill edge and gates at the top of long steps. One rotted post lets a section rack. We reset it deeper in concrete, re-plumb the run and rehang the gate so it clears the steps.
Older homes, older fences, many on posts set in soil decades ago. Shade keeps the canyon floors damp, so the posts rot at grade while the boards look fine. We reset the failed posts and match the wood so the repair disappears.
Wind and sun on the ridge. Boards dry and split, and the wind works a weak post loose. We reset the posts, replace the split boards and seal the new wood against the sun.
We price the repair on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled.
Posts, rails, pickets, hardware and concrete come along, so a post reset, a picket swap or a gate rehang is finished the same day we arrive.
A gate that is done gets a new single wood gate built on site, up to four feet wide. A fallen section is rebuilt on the existing posts.
The work area is cleaned before we leave, and every repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty.
The Hollywood Hills are in the City of Los Angeles: a front-yard fence is limited to three and a half feet and a side or rear fence to six (eight on some lots), and a building permit is needed only for masonry over three and a half feet or any other fence over ten (LADBS). Hillside lots have grading rules for anything new. A like-for-like repair changes nothing, and we check before building anything new.
California's Swimming Pool Safety Act expects a pool barrier gate to close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches above the ground. If your pool gate drags open or the latch no longer catches, that is the first thing we fix.
Hollywoodland, Outpost Estates and a few hillside communities have associations that rarely need to approve a repair matching the existing fence. A new gate, a new section or a different stain sometimes needs a form, and we can give you the materials and finish in writing for it.

Call 310-928-6211We answer in under three rings, price most fence and gate repairs on the call, and usually schedule within days. The technician brings posts, rails, pickets, hardware and concrete, so a post reset, a picket swap or a gate rehang is finished in one visit.
Yes. Most fence and gate repairs are exactly handyman work: posts, rails, pickets, hinges and latches. Kaminskiy is licensed, bonded and insured, so a rebuilt section or a new gate is not a problem either.
It depends on three things: how many posts have failed, how much wood needs replacing, and how easy the fence is to reach. Tell us what the fence is doing, or text a photo, and we give you the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled. No surprises at the house.
Yes. We reset the post deeper and in more concrete than the original, re-plumb the run against the slope and brace the gate. If the slope itself has moved, we say so on the call; that is a retaining-wall job, not a fence job.
No. We repair wood fences and gates: posts, pickets, rails, sections, gates and staining. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl fencing, iron work and electric gate openers are not our lane. If your fence needs one of those, we tell you on the call and still fix what can be saved.
Not a like-for-like repair. The Hollywood Hills are in the City of Los Angeles, where a wood fence needs no building permit unless it is over ten feet. A new fence on a hillside lot can need more, and we tell you that on the call.
