Cracked plaster in the 1920s bungalows, sprayed ceilings from before 1980 tested first, humidity stains in the block houses west of Dixie, knob holes and move-out walls. Priced in writing on the call.

Lake Worth Beach has older walls than almost any city on this coast, and Kaminskiy Care and Repair repairs them in the material they were built in: the plaster on wood lath in a College Park or Parrot Cove bungalow that cracks along the lath and goes hollow at the corners, the early drywall and sprayed ceilings in the 1950s and 1960s block houses of Tropical Ridge and Mango Groves that a licensed lab tests before anyone sands them, the humidity stain along the bottom of an exterior block wall, the ceiling ring under a retrofitted air handler, the knob hole and the anchor holes after a tenant. Plaster is patched as plaster, drywall as drywall, each finished to match and primed. Water waits for the source to be fixed and the wall to meter dry. The price is in writing on the call from our West Palm Beach office, and most patches are finished in one visit.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced in writing before we start.
A hundred years of salt air off the lagoon, a wet season every year and three generations of wall material in one small city: Lake Worth Beach walls are plaster on lath in the bungalows, plaster over block in the Mission houses, and half-inch drywall with sprayed ceilings in the midcentury streets. We tell you which you have on the first look, patch it the right way for that material, and handle a pre-1978 painted surface or a pre-1980 ceiling with the testing and the care it needs.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every drywall repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty, in writing, and is done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
The bungalows of College Park, Parrot Cove and the Lucerne neighborhoods went up in the 1920s and 1930s with plaster on wood lath; a crack follows the lath, the plaster keys break and a section goes hollow, and a corner crumbles into sand. The Mission and Mediterranean houses are plaster straight over block. The block ranches west of Dixie from the 1950s and 1960s carry the first drywall, furred off the block, with orange peel on the walls and sprayed ceilings. A drywall patch screwed into plaster is the repair that fails; plaster is patched with a bonding agent and a setting compound keyed into the lath and finished to the surrounding sand or skim finish.
Most of Lake Worth Beach was built before 1980, when sprayed ceilings and some joint compound still carried asbestos and paint carried lead. A ceiling from that era is sampled by a licensed lab before anyone scrapes or sands it, and abatement, if it is needed, is a licensed contractor's job before our patch; painted surfaces in a pre-1978 house are handled lead-safe by an EPA-certified crew. It is an extra step on the schedule, built into the plan on the call, and it is the reason we never sand an untested older ceiling.
In a bungalow it is the roof and the window frames: salt air lifts the paint on a wood sash, the rain follows it into the wall, and the plaster below the sill stains and softens. In the block houses it is the humidity in the block pushing inward, the air handler retrofitted into a hall closet, and the galvanized supply lines a plumber opens a wall to replace. In the apartments along the lagoon it is the unit above. The source is fixed first, the wall reads dry on a meter, then the soft material comes out; a dark patch bigger than a dinner plate is a licensed mold remediation company's job before ours.
A hole smaller than your hand is a backed patch; bigger than your hand and smaller than a laptop, a paper patch; poster-sized, a framed backer and a new section; anything larger, or anything water has softened, a full sheet screwed to the furring or the studs with every seam taped. On plaster the same sizes apply with a bonding agent and a setting compound instead of a board patch. Three coats, sanding, the matched finish and primer are the same on all of them, and the hardware-store spackle patch skips every one.
Bungalows and Mission and Mediterranean houses from the 1920s to the 1940s a few blocks from the water, many in the city's historic districts: plaster on lath, plaster over block, wood windows that let the rain in, and corner bead rusting in the salt air. Plaster patched as plaster with the finish matched, painted surfaces handled lead-safe by an EPA-certified crew, and nothing on the inside needs the historic board.
Bungalows on narrow lots with alleys behind them, the original plaster inside and additions in drywall of two later decades, so one wall can carry three materials. Cracks follow the old addition seams, the alley-side rooms take the water nobody notices, and the ceilings may be sprayed from before 1980 and get tested before anyone touches them. We patch each material as itself and match the finish across the seam.
Block ranches from the 1950s and 1960s toward I-95 with furring strips, half-inch board, orange peel and sprayed ceilings: the humidity stain along the bottom of an exterior wall, the ceiling under the retrofitted air handler, the wall the plumber opened, the knob hole, and rental turnovers with anchor holes by the room. Matched on a test board, primed for paint.
The same West Palm Beach crew covers the rest of the county, and the West Palm Beach drywall repair page explains the block-wall humidity story, the city permit rule and the claim paperwork for the bigger city next door.
Hold your hand over the damage and tell us: smaller than your hand, bigger than your hand, poster-sized, or a whole sheet. We price it on the call, in writing, in under ten minutes.
Water damage is repaired after the source is fixed. If the stain is still wet we tell you who fixes the leak, and we schedule the drywall for when it is dry.
Backing where it needs it, new board cut to fit, every seam taped, three coats of compound sanded smooth, your texture matched, then primer.
Dust contained and the room left clean. Most patches are finished in one visit; a full sheet may need a short second visit for the final coat, scheduled before we leave.
Lake Worth Beach publishes its own permit exceptions, and the state code it builds under treats painting, papering and similar finish work as exempt and lets the building official approve an ordinary minor repair without a permit; a plaster or drywall patch, a replaced sheet or a ceiling repair in an existing wall is that. The city names interior painting and drywall repairs as the kind of small job its new state exemption process is for, but every request is reviewed in writing and flood hazard property is excluded, so we promise nothing from it. A new opening, a removed wall or framing takes a permit, and in a historic district the outside of the house has its own review; the inside does not.
Florida's insurance regulator tells homeowners to read the exclusions, and in a 1925 bungalow the exclusions do the talking: a supply line that burst is usually a covered sudden discharge, while a window that has leaked through every wet season, a roof that was due ten years ago, or plaster that has wicked from the block for decades usually reads as wear and lack of maintenance. Flood is a separate policy. Photograph the stain and the source the day you find it, keep the roofer's or plumber's invoice, and we write the plaster or drywall scope on its own line. The adjuster decides; we repair after the wall reads dry.
A house built before 1978 is a lead-safe job under the federal renovation rule: the painted surface is handled by an EPA-certified crew with the dust contained and cleaned up, which is most of Lake Worth Beach. A ceiling sprayed before 1980, or old joint compound, may carry asbestos, and Florida licenses asbestos abatement as its own trade: a licensed lab samples the ceiling first, a licensed contractor removes it if the lab says so, and our patch comes after. We say this on the first call so the schedule has room for it, and we never scrape an untested ceiling.

Call 561-220-5884Usually within days, from our West Palm Beach office. The price is in writing on the call; most drywall patches are finished in one visit, and a plaster repair or an older ceiling that has to be sampled first is scheduled in two.
If the house is from before about 1950 and the wall sounds dense and solid when you knock, it is probably plaster on lath, and it matters: plaster is patched with a bonding agent and a setting compound keyed into the lath, not a drywall patch screwed in. Our technicians repair both and tell you which you have on the first look.
Not until it is tested. A ceiling sprayed before 1980 may carry asbestos, so a licensed lab samples it first; if abatement is needed a licensed contractor does it, and then we replace the stained section, finish and prime it. The roof is fixed before any of that, or the ring comes back.
Humidity pushing through the block from outside, usually helped by a sprinkler or a planter against the stucco. The outside is dried up first, the wall meters dry, then the soft board and the wet insulation behind it come out and new board goes in, textured and primed. A wall that stays wet for days is a licensed mold remediation company's call before ours.
Yes. The setting compound is finished to the same sand or skim texture as the wall around it and feathered so there is no edge, then primed. A smooth plaster wall gets a wider feather and a check in raking light, because the afternoon sun off the lagoon shows every edge.
The material, the size, the water and the height: plaster or drywall; hand-sized, poster-sized or a whole sheet; dry or water-damaged; eight feet or a tall bungalow ceiling. Say which on the call and the price is in writing in under ten minutes.
Yes, by the room: up to fifteen nail, screw and anchor holes in a room is one menu item, filled flush, textured and primed for the turnover paint. A knob hole or a dented corner in the same room is priced on the same call.
