Most of Rancho Peñasquitos went up between the late 1960s and the 1990s, and its fences stand on posts that have been watered by sprinklers ever since. The post rots at the ground line while the pickets above still look fine, so the run leans. On the canyon edges the wind works a weak post loose, and inland sun splits the redwood that is left. The fix is new posts in concrete and matched boards, not a new fence.
