Shaded eaves, wood windows, deck boards, railing posts and fascia on the wooded lots cut out and rebuilt with sound wood, matched to the house. Priced in writing before we start.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair rebuilds rotted and termite-damaged wood on La Cañada Flintridge homes, from the wooded Flintridge estates and the Descanso streets above the Arroyo to the foothill lots below Angeles Crest and the ranch homes around Memorial Park and the Foothill Boulevard corridor: the eaves and wood windows that never dry under the oaks, the deck boards and railing posts on the slope lots, the wind-worn fascia and sills on the foothill streets, the trim and door frames on the 1950s and 1960s ranch houses in the center of town. Cut back to sound wood, rebuilt to the same profile, primed, painted and sealed, with the irrigation head or the downspout that caused it fixed. A licensed pest company treats termites; we rebuild after them. The price is in writing before anything starts, from our Glendale office down the 2.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced in writing before we start.
Oaks and sycamores over every lot, slopes down to the Arroyo, windstorms off Angeles Crest and drywood termites in the eaves: La Cañada Flintridge wood rots in the shade and splits in the wind. We open it up, cut back to sound wood, rebuild, prime and paint, and close the gap the water used.

Primed, Painted & SealedWood under a canopy rots quietly, and the first anyone notices is the inspector. A Kaminskiy-certified technician prices an eave board, a sill or a deck board on the call, in writing; a long shaded eave run, a deck or a whole elevation gets a written scope after a look.

We answer in under three rings and get you priced and scheduled in minutes.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every rot and termite damage repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty, in writing, and is done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
Shade and slope. The town sits under a canopy of oaks and sycamores that keeps the eaves, the north walls and the window sills damp for days after a storm, and most lots slope, so the hillside drains past the deck posts and the bottom of the siding. The foothill streets take the windstorms off Angeles Crest first, and the rain they drive finds every joint where the paint has checked. The 1950s and 1960s ranch homes in the center add wood fascia and door frames on their original paint schedule. We look at the shaded eaves, the deck and the wind side first.
Drywood termites live inside the dry fascia and eave boards, need no soil, swarm in late summer and fall and leave hard six-sided pellets on a sill or a deck under a pinhole. Under the trees and along the irrigated slopes the ground stays damp enough for subterranean termites, which come up in mud tubes where a post or the siding meets the dirt. A licensed pest company treats whichever it is; we rebuild the wood after, and the two are scheduled so the eave opens once.
An eave run under an oak that is filled and painted is green again in two winters. We cut the rotted run back to sound wood, splice or replace it to the same profile, back-prime every face, set it, caulk the joint and paint to match, and then we tell you which branches to take off the roof so the new wood can dry. The same for a wood window: the sill is rebuilt to shed water and the sash stays.
Keep the trees trimmed off the roof edge and the walls, keep the gutters clear of leaves before the first storm and the downspouts carried away from the slope side, keep the irrigation off the house and the deck posts, and repaint the foothill-facing wall before it peels. Under a canopy the sun is not going to dry the wood; the air and the drainage have to.
1920s to 1950s estates on large wooded lots sloping down to the Arroyo, with long eave runs, wood windows and shutters under the canopy. The eaves and the sill corners never dry, the deck boards and railing posts on the slope lots take the weather, and a ledger can hide damage behind the stucco. We rebuild the runs to the profile, rebuild the sills to shed water and name a ledger problem before anyone opens the wall.
First in line for the windstorms off the mountains. The fascia splits, the paint goes, and the driven rain gets behind the eaves and the sills; on the canyon lots the shade keeps the post bases damp. On this side of the valley the work is the ordinary rot the wind and the shade cause, rebuilt and sealed against the next storm.
1950s and 1960s ranch homes with wood fascia, eave trim, pop-out sills and door frames, and sprinklers along every walk. The fascia behind the gutters, the sill corners and the jamb bottoms at the slab go first. We rebuild them, match the trim profile and the paint and fix the drip edge or the sprinkler head that caused it.
The Glendale office is fifteen minutes down the 2; the Los Angeles dry rot and wood rot repair page has the basin-wide picture, the City of Los Angeles permit rule and the termite report in plain words.
A fascia board, a sill or a trim piece is priced on the call, in writing. A bigger rebuild gets a look first and a written price before anything starts.
We cut back to sound wood and probe how far the rot really goes. If it runs further than the photo showed, you hear it before we go further, with the price.
New wood primed on all sides, caulked, painted to match, and the water path that caused it fixed: the drip edge, the flashing, the gutter end, the sprinkler.
The work area is cleaned before we leave, and every rot repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty.
La Cañada Flintridge builds to the Los Angeles County Building Code, adopted by the city with its own amendments and its own building official, and the county code keeps its own list of work exempt from a permit. That list follows the state's: no application for ordinary repairs to a structure, painting and similar finish work exempt, which is where a rebuilt sill, an eave run or a deck board falls; the line is cutting a structural beam or a load-bearing support, and rot that deep gets a permit and an engineer. We check with the city's building counter before a bigger job rather than guess.
A sale in La Cañada Flintridge brings a termite report from a licensed structural pest control company, and under the canopy the Section 1 list is usually the shaded eaves and the sills: Section 1 is the active infestation and the damage from it, Section 2 the conditions likely to lead to it. The pest company treats and certifies; the carpentry on the list is ours, reinspected by them when it is done. Send the report with the address and the repairs come back priced, in writing.
Most of La Cañada Flintridge has no association; the city's own design rules are about anything new, not a repair that matches the house. The rules that decide whether the repair lasts are the trees and the drainage: the canopy has to come off the roof edge and the hillside has to drain past the deck posts, and we tell you which branches and which downspout as part of the rebuild.

Call 747-298-8227We answer in under three rings and our Glendale office is fifteen minutes down the 2. An eave board, a sill or a deck board is priced on the call and scheduled within days; a long shaded eave run, a deck or a whole elevation is sized after a look, with the scope in writing first.
Yes. After a licensed pest company treats the colony, we cut out the eaten fascia, eave boards, sills and the framing we can reach, rebuild to the profile and paint; the treatment, the fumigation and the report stay with the pest company.
Yes. Eaves, fascia, sills, sashes, trim, jambs, siding and deck boards are carpentry, and Kaminskiy is licensed, bonded and insured, so a splice into a rafter or a joist is fine too. A beam or a ledger gets named before anyone opens a wall.
The length of the shaded run and what is behind it set most of it, then the height and the profile it has to match. A sill or a deck board is priced on the call; forty feet of eave under an oak is priced after a look. Either way the number is in writing before anything is scheduled.
Not if the canopy comes off the roof edge and the new wood is primed on every face, which is how we build it. We tell you which branches to have taken off and which downspout to extend, and the repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty in writing.
Not for an ordinary repair: the county code La Cañada Flintridge builds to follows the state's, which asks for no application for ordinary repairs or finish work. Rot that reaches a structural beam or a load-bearing support is past that line and gets a permit and an engineer, which we tell you on the call.
