Sun-cracked clapboard on a Garfield bungalow, split board-and-batten on an Arcadia ranch, wood eaten hollow behind termite mud tubes, monsoon-cracked Hardie in Desert Ridge: replaced in the same profile, sealed for the heat and painted to the house.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair repairs and replaces siding and exterior wood across Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler and Glendale: the clapboard of the wood-frame bungalows in Garfield, Roosevelt and the other historic districts, the board-and-batten gables and wainscots of the Arcadia and North Central ranches, the T1-11 and wood accents of the 1970s and 1980s homes, the siding and trim that desert subterranean termites hollow out at the slab, and the fiber cement (Hardie) on the newer communities. We cut back to sound wood once a licensed pest company has treated, fit new material in the same profile, prime every face, seal it for 115-degree summers and paint it to the house. An EPA Lead-Safe Certified firm, priced in writing on the call: 480-637-5830.
The wood that a stucco valley still has.
Phoenix is a stucco city, so its siding is the wood that is left: the clapboard of the old bungalows, the battens on a ranch gable, the trim at the slab. Three things go after it. The sun bakes the paint off and splits the boards, the monsoon drives dust and rain into every open joint, and desert subterranean termites build mud tubes up from the soil and hollow the wood from inside. We repair after the pest company treats, replace the wood with the same profile, raise it off the soil and seal it for the heat.

Walk-Through & WarrantyWe take these calls across the Valley every week, and more after each monsoon storm. A photo is usually enough to price the repair in writing on the call; when termites may have reached the framing, we look first and coordinate with your pest company before anything is scheduled.

We name the siding, tell you whether the city, a historic district or an association has a say, and price the repair in writing.

If termites are active the licensed pest company treats first; then the damaged wood comes off and we show you how far it went.

New siding in the same profile, kept off the soil, primed on every face, sealed for the heat and painted to the house.
Every job is backed in writing by our workmanship warranty and done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
The wood-frame bungalows of Garfield, Roosevelt and Catlin Court are clad in clapboard. Many 1950s and 1960s ranches in Arcadia and North Central carry board-and-batten on a gable or a wainscot. 1970s and 1980s homes carry T1-11 or wood accents, every older house has wood fascia and rafter tails, and newer communities carry fiber cement accents. We name yours from a photo.
The desert subterranean termite lives in the soil and builds mud tubes up to the wood it eats, so damaged siding at the slab is almost always a termite question before it is a carpentry one. A licensed pest company inspects and treats; we replace the damaged wood after, raise it off the soil and leave the slab edge visible so the next tube is easy to spot.
Summers past 110 degrees and the UV that comes with them break down paint on the west and south walls in a few years and shrink ordinary caulk out of the joints. The monsoon then blows dust and rain into the openings. A lasting repair primes every face, uses sealant rated for the heat, and repaints the exposed faces on a shorter cycle.
Keep gravel and soil below the bottom of the siding, turn drip emitters and flood irrigation away from the wood, look along the slab every spring for new mud tubes, and recaulk the joints before monsoon season. A board this year is a wall in five.
Phoenix built in block and stucco, but wood shows up in three places: the early wood-frame bungalows near downtown, the ranches of the fifties and sixties with their board-and-batten and beams, and the trim and accents on everything since. The sun, the monsoon and the termites decide what fails first.
Bungalows and cottages from the 1910s to the 1940s, the wood-frame ones in clapboard, with porches, wood windows and trim close to the soil. The clapboard bakes on the sunny faces and the termites come up at the base. The Historic Preservation Office reviews street-visible exterior changes; a repair that puts back the same wood in the same profile is maintenance. These houses predate 1978, so the paint is tested and the work is done lead-safe by an EPA Lead-Safe Certified firm.
Ranch homes from the 1950s through the 1970s with board-and-batten gables and wainscots, open-beam patio covers and flood-irrigated lawns and citrus. The battens split on the west faces, the bottoms rot where the irrigation water sits, and the beam ends check. The repair is new board-and-batten in the same spacing, kept above the water, and sealed.
Stucco homes from the 1980s on with fiber cement or wood accents, foam trim and strict association schemes. Fiber cement chips at corners and cracks at nails, the sun chalks the paint, and the monsoon opens the joints. A repair painted to the scheme rarely needs a form, and we put the materials and color in writing when one is needed.
Nearly always. Termites, irrigation water and sun work on the base of the wall and on the exposed faces; the rest of the wood stays sound in the dry air. We cut out the damaged wood, check the framing behind it, and replace it in the same profile. When termites reached the framing, the pest company's report and our photos decide the scope together.
Not for replacing pieces. The City of Phoenix's own list of work exempt from a permit includes minor repair or replacement in kind of non-structural components, with replacing pieces of siding, soffits or fascia named on it, and painting is exempt too. Re-siding a house, or a repair that reaches framing, is a permit. Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Chandler keep their own lists, and we check them.
We price it in writing from a photo before anything is scheduled. The number depends on how much wood has failed, whether termites reached the framing, whether the profile is stocked or milled, and how much painting it takes to blend. Materials are on the quote, with no percentage markups.
Arizona lets an unlicensed person take only work that is casual or minor, under a set total including materials, and that needs no building permit, and anyone who advertises without a license has to say so (A.R.S. 32-1121). Past that line the Registrar of Contractors licenses the work. Kaminskiy Care and Repair is bonded and insured, and we tell you on the call which license a job needs and who holds it.
We name the siding, ask about mud tubes and any inspection report, check the historic map, and price the repair in writing.
Where termites are active, the licensed pest company treats first; then the damaged wood comes off and you see how far it went.
New siding and trim in the same profile, set above the soil and the irrigation, primed on every face, joints sealed with heat-rated sealant.
Painted to the house early in the day so it cures right, the site cleaned, the photos and the one-year workmanship warranty sent.
The City of Phoenix's 'Work Exempt from Permit' list, under section 105.2 of its building construction code, names minor repair or replacement in kind of non-structural components, including replacing pieces of siding, soffits or fascia, along with painting and similar finish work. Re-siding a house, or a repair that reaches a beam or wall framing, is a permit. Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler and Glendale keep their own lists, and we check before quoting.
An Arizona sale usually comes with a Wood Destroying Insect Inspection Report, which state law lets only an applicator certified in wood-destroying organism management complete; it records the insects and the conducive conditions that were visible that day, and it is not a guarantee. The pest company treats and clears. We rebuild the siding, trim and framing on the list, and the inspector can recheck.
Willo, Coronado, Encanto-Palmcroft, Garfield, Roosevelt and the other historic districts review exterior changes visible from the street; a repair in the same wood and profile is maintenance, and we confirm with the Historic Preservation Office before anything bigger. Ahwatukee, Desert Ridge and most newer communities have associations. Homes built before 1978 may carry lead paint: Kaminskiy Care and Repair is an EPA Lead-Safe Certified firm, so the paint is tested first and the work contained and cleaned to that standard.

Call 480-637-5830Most of it can be repaired. In the Valley the damage is concentrated where termites come up from the soil, where irrigation water sits, and on the faces that take the afternoon sun; the rest of the wood stays sound in the dry air. We cut out the damaged pieces, check the framing, replace them in the same profile, and seal and paint them. A whole wall is re-sided only when the damage runs across it.
Call a licensed pest company first: mud tubes mean desert subterranean termites are active, and they have to be treated before any wood is replaced. Then we open the siding and trim, cut back to sound wood, check the framing, rebuild with new wood kept off the soil, and leave the slab edge clear so new tubes are easy to see. Send us the pest report and we price from it.
We price it in writing from a photo before anything is scheduled. How much wood has failed, whether termites reached the framing, whether the profile is stocked, and how much painting it takes to blend all move the number. A few clapboards at the base of a bungalow is a small line; a termite-damaged corner with new framing is a larger one. No percentage markups.
Not to replace pieces. The City of Phoenix's work-exempt list names minor repair or replacement in kind of non-structural components, including replacing pieces of siding, soffits or fascia, and painting is exempt as well. Re-siding a house or reaching into framing is a permit, and the other Valley cities keep their own lists, which we check before we quote.
Only casual, minor work under a set total including materials, and only when no building permit is needed; anyone advertising without a license must say so (A.R.S. 32-1121). Past that line the Registrar of Contractors licenses the work. Kaminskiy Care and Repair is bonded and insured, and we tell you on the call which license your job needs. Call 480-637-5830.
Because the finish goes first. Summers past 110 degrees and strong UV break down paint on the west and south walls in a few years, ordinary caulk shrinks out of the joints, and the monsoon blows dust and rain into the openings. Bare wood then splits and the termites find it. Priming every face, heat-rated sealant and a shorter repaint cycle on the exposed faces keep it sound.
Wood-frame bungalows in the historic districts carry clapboard that bakes and draws termites at the base. 1950s and 1960s ranches carry board-and-batten gables and wainscots that split in the sun and rot at the irrigation line. Later homes carry T1-11 or wood accents, every house has wood fascia and rafter tails, and the newer communities carry fiber cement accents that chip and crack.
