Doorknob holes, settling cracks, water-stained ceilings and a room full of anchor holes, patched and texture matched so you cannot find them. Priced in writing on the call.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair patches, finishes and texture matches drywall in San Diego homes from an office on World Trade Drive: the doorknob hole, the crack over the door that comes back every summer, the brown map on the ceiling after the upstairs bath leaked, the fifteen anchor holes the tenant left, the wall opened by the plumber. Each repair gets new board where it needs it, three coats of compound, the texture matched to the wall around it and primer, so the paint goes on and nothing shows. Water damage waits for the leak to be fixed and the board to dry, then it comes out. The price is in writing on the call, in under ten minutes, and most patches are finished in one visit. Since 2018 our technicians have completed 7,691 repair visits on 3,488 San Diego County homes, a patched wall in most of them.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced in writing before we start.
San Diego walls get hurt the same few ways: a doorknob with no stop, a picture rail of anchors, a leak from the bath above, a truss lifting the ceiling tape in September, a plumber who had to open the wall to find the pipe. The fix is the same craft every time: sound board, taped seams, three coats sanded flat, and the texture matched, orange peel in Clairemont, knockdown in Scripps Ranch, smooth in the Village condos. Our technicians carry the hopper and the trowels, and the price is written down before they start.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every drywall repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty, in writing, and is done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
Three reasons, and the fix is different for each. The first years of a new home: lumber dries, the roof trusses move with the seasons and the tape at the ceiling line lifts, worst in the inland tracts where September is the driest month. A door with no stop: the knob goes through the same spot every time until someone fits a stop. Water: an upstairs bath, a roof flashing, a slab leak in a 1980s tract with the old plastic supply lines. We fix the board and tell you which of the three you have.
Most San Diego tracts from the 1970s through the 2000s carry orange peel or knockdown; the newer custom homes and many condos run smooth or a light skip trowel; the pre-1950 houses in North Park, Kensington and Mission Hills are often lath and plaster, not drywall at all, and plaster is patched differently. Matching the texture so the repair vanishes is the part most people get wrong, and it is the part our technicians are known for.
A stained ceiling is a symptom. The leak above it is fixed first, by a plumber, a roofer or the neighbor upstairs, and the board has to read dry on the meter before new drywall goes in; patch it wet and the stain comes back through the primer. Soft, sagging or dark drywall comes out, the framing is checked, new board goes up. A small dry spot of discoloration we can cut out; anything more is a licensed mold remediation company's job, and we say so on the call.
A hole smaller than your hand is a backed patch; bigger than your hand and smaller than a laptop is a paper patch; poster-sized gets a framed backer and a new section; anything larger, or anything water has softened, is a full sheet screwed to the studs with every seam taped. Three coats, sanding, texture and primer are the same on all of them. The filler-and-paint patch from the hardware store skips all four steps, which is why it shows.
Older stucco houses and beach cottages with wood windows, condos stacked three high, and the damp that comes with the marine layer. The damage here is water at the window sills and the ceiling under the upstairs bath, salt-air corrosion at the corner bead, and the ceiling stain in a condo that started two floors up. We dry it, replace the board, match the smooth or light orange peel finish and leave it primed.
Stucco tract homes from the 1970s through the 2010s on clay soils that swell in winter and shrink by September. The damage is settling cracks above doors and windows, truss lift at the ceiling line, nail pops in the hallway, and the 1980s slab leak that soaks a wall from the bottom. Orange peel and knockdown textures, matched with the hopper gun so the repair disappears under the HOA paint.
Craftsman and Spanish houses from the 1910s to the 1940s with lath and plaster walls, and the 1950s and 1960s ranch tracts where the first drywall went up. Plaster cracks along the lath lines and crumbles at the corners; the 1960s drywall carries forty years of patches. We patch plaster as plaster, drywall as drywall, and test an older ceiling before anyone disturbs it.
Hold your hand over the damage and tell us: smaller than your hand, bigger than your hand, poster-sized, or a whole sheet. We price it on the call, in writing, in under ten minutes.
Water damage is repaired after the source is fixed. If the stain is still wet we tell you who fixes the leak, and we schedule the drywall for when it is dry.
Backing where it needs it, new board cut to fit, every seam taped, three coats of compound sanded smooth, your texture matched, then primer.
Dust contained and the room left clean. Most patches are finished in one visit; a full sheet may need a short second visit for the final coat, scheduled before we leave.
The City of San Diego exempts like-for-like maintenance repairs under a set cost from a permit, and the California Residential Code lists painting, papering and similar finish work as needing none; a drywall patch, a new sheet in an existing wall or a ceiling repair is that kind of work. Moving a wall, adding an opening or touching framing is different, and we say so before the job rather than after. The garage wall has its own rule, below.
A sudden leak is usually a covered loss; a slow leak that ran for months usually is not, and the adjuster will ask when it started. Photograph the stain and the source before anyone opens the wall, keep the plumber's invoice, and the drywall work goes on its own line of our quote so it reads cleanly on the claim. We do not fix the leak; the plumber or roofer does, and the board is dried and metered before new drywall goes in.
The wall and ceiling between the house and an attached garage are fire separation under the California Residential Code: a half-inch board on the garage side, five-eighths Type X on a garage ceiling under a living space. A full-sheet repair there goes back with the same board, which is what the code asks. In a house built before 1978 the painted surface may carry lead and a ceiling sprayed before 1980 may carry asbestos; an older ceiling is tested first by a licensed lab or abatement contractor, and painted surfaces are handled lead-safe.

Call 858-330-5590We answer in under three rings, price the repair on the call in writing, and usually schedule within days. Most patches are finished in one visit; a full sheet or a ceiling sometimes takes a brief second visit for the last coat, scheduled before we leave.
Yes. Orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel or smooth, sprayed or troweled to match the wall around the repair and feathered out so there is no edge. Matching the texture is most of the craft, and it is the reason the old patch on your wall shows and ours will not.
Yes, after the leak is fixed and the board reads dry on the meter. The stained, soft section comes out, the framing above is checked, new drywall goes up, taped, three coats, textured and primed. A still-wet ceiling is priced on the call once we know the size, not from the menu.
Every patch leaves textured, primed and paint-ready. Painting the wall is our painting crew's job and can be booked on the same call, and if you are painting the room yourself the primer is already on.
Gladly. One doorknob hole, one crack, one patch. The job everyone thinks is too small to call about is exactly the job we want, and a room of nail and anchor holes is a menu item of its own.
It depends on the size of the damage (hand-sized, poster-sized or a whole sheet), whether water is involved, the texture to match and the ceiling height. Hold your hand over the damage, tell us which it is, and you get the price in writing on the call.
Not for a patch, a replaced sheet in an existing wall or a ceiling repair: the City of San Diego exempts like-for-like maintenance repairs under a set cost, and the state code treats finish work the same way. New openings, moved walls or framing changes are a different job and we say so first.
