Salt air and sand at every door. Hinges and deadbolts seize, wood doors swell through the gray months, and the paint on the ocean side goes first. We rehang and seal, fit stainless hardware that stands up to the spray, and refinish the edges that face the weather.
Beach houses with wide sliders and French doors that open to the ocean air, and the 1970s and 1980s condos near the university.
