Posts reset, pickets matched, sagging gates rehung square. Priced on the call, usually finished in one visit.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair repairs wood fences and gates across Ventura County, from Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and Simi Valley to Camarillo, Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura. Posts rotted at the ground are reset in fresh concrete, broken pickets and rails are matched, and gates that drag are rehung square, usually in one visit. You get the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled, and we keep every board that is still sound. Since 2005, from our Ventura County crew.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced before we come out.
Santa Ana winds in the valleys, salt air on the coast and irrigated HOA streets everywhere wear a Ventura County fence down. We reset the posts, match the wood and the stain, and rehang the gate so it latches with one hand. Same fence, standing straight.

Wind, water and salt. The Conejo and Simi valleys catch the Santa Ana winds that take the weakest section first; the planned communities stand on builder posts watered by irrigation ever since, so they rot at grade; and on the coast in Ventura and Oxnard the salt air takes the hinges and latches. The pickets usually look fine. The fix is new posts in concrete, the right hardware and matched boards, not a new fence.
A like-for-like repair needs nothing. California exempts fences up to seven feet from a building permit, and Ventura County's cities each keep a front-yard fence low, around three to four feet, and a side or rear fence to six. We check the city before building anything new.
Reset posts and matching pickets fix most fences for a fraction of the cost of a new one, and that is the work we do. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl and iron are not our lane. If that is what the fence needs, we say so on the call, and we still fix the gate and the sections that can be saved.
A pool gate should close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches up. That is the standard in California's Swimming Pool Safety Act, and it is the first thing we check on a pool fence. The gap the dog found at the bottom is a rail and a picket, fixed in the same visit.
Planned communities on slopes, with HOA fence standards and the Santa Ana winds in the fall. One rotted post lets a section rack and the wind finishes it. We reset the posts deeper, re-plumb the run and match the profile the association expects.
Hot summers and builder fences watered for decades. The posts go at grade while the pickets look fine, so the run leans and the gate drags. Resetting the failed posts brings the line back straight without replacing the fence.
Salt air gets the hardware before it gets the wood. Hinges seize, latches stop catching, and the rail screws let go. We fit coated or stainless hardware, reset the posts that have gone and keep the sound pickets.
We price the repair on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled.
Posts, rails, pickets, hardware and concrete come along, so a post reset, a picket swap or a gate rehang is finished the same day we arrive.
A gate that is done gets a new single wood gate built on site, up to four feet wide. A fallen section is rebuilt on the existing posts.
The work area is cleaned before we leave, and every repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty.
California exempts fences up to seven feet from a building permit. Each Ventura County city sets its own heights, and they run close: a front-yard fence around three to four feet, a side or rear fence at six, corner sight lines kept low; the unincorporated county has its own table. A like-for-like repair changes nothing, and we check the city before building anything new.
California's Swimming Pool Safety Act expects a pool barrier gate to close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches above the ground. If your pool gate drags open or the latch no longer catches, that is the first thing we fix.
Most of the Conejo and Simi planned communities are association streets, and most do not need to approve a repair that matches the existing fence. A new gate, a new section or a different stain sometimes needs a form, and we can give you the materials and finish in writing for it.

Yes. Most fence and gate repairs are exactly handyman work: posts, rails, pickets, hinges and latches. Kaminskiy is licensed, bonded and insured, so a rebuilt section or a new gate is not a problem either.
It depends on three things: how many posts have failed, how much wood needs replacing, and how easy the fence is to reach. Tell us what the fence is doing, or text a photo, and we give you the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled. No surprises at the house.
Yes. A section that went over is rebuilt on the existing posts, a leaning run is re-plumbed and braced, and a gate is rehung on hardware that holds. Tell us what went over and we price it on the call.
No. We repair wood fences and gates: posts, pickets, rails, sections, gates and staining. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl fencing, iron work and electric gate openers are not our lane. If your fence needs one of those, we tell you on the call and still fix what can be saved.
A repair that matches the existing fence rarely needs anything. California exempts fences up to seven feet from a building permit, and the county's cities keep side and rear fences to six feet. A new gate, a new section or a different color sometimes needs an HOA form, and we can put the materials and finish in writing for it.
