Winter truss cracks in the tracts, nail pops in the Bench ranches, the garage wall after a frozen hose line, plaster in the North End, patched and primed. Priced in writing on the call.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair patches, finishes and texture matches walls and ceilings in Boise homes, where the air is dry enough to shrink a house around its drywall. The 1990s to 2010s tracts in Harris Ranch, Southeast Boise and out toward Meridian were framed with engineered trusses that arch in a cold, dry attic and lift the ceiling tape off the upstairs walls each winter; the Bench ranches of the 1950s to 1980s have nail pops marching down the hallway after forty dry summers; the North End and Hyde Park bungalows carry lath and plaster that has cracked along the lath. Add the hose-bib line that froze in the garage wall in January, the ice dam that stained an East End ceiling in a snowy February, the knob hole, and the anchor holes after a lease near the university. Each is repaired in the material it was built in, finished to match and primed. Water waits for the plumber or the roofer and a dry meter reading. The price is in writing on the call and most patches are finished in one visit.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced in writing before we start.
Boise drywall is a dry-air story. Framing keeps shrinking for years after a house is closed in, the trusses lift every winter and settle every summer, and any crack filled with caulk alone opens again by February. We tape it, feather it wide, match the orange peel or knockdown the tracts carry and the smooth or sand finish of the older houses, and we tell you plainly when a ceiling-line crack is truss lift and needs a corner that is allowed to move.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every drywall repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty, in writing, and is done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
Boise sits in high desert and the air inside a heated house in January is drier still. Framing shrinks for years after a house is closed in, so nails back out of the studs and show as pops, and the roof trusses in the 1990s to 2010s tracts arch upward as their top chords dry in the cold attic, lifting the ceiling drywall off the interior walls: a crack along the ceiling line that opens every winter and closes every summer, through any amount of caulk. The right repair lets the corner move, the ceiling board fastened away from the wall or a crown line over the joint, and the crack stops coming back. Settling cracks at the door and window corners are taped, feathered and textured so they stay closed.
The North End, Hyde Park and the East End are bungalows and Victorians from the 1900s to the 1920s, and behind the paint is lath and plaster with a sand or skim finish: a crack follows the lath, a section goes hollow when the keys break, a corner crumbles. Plaster is patched with a bonding agent and a setting compound keyed into the lath, never a drywall patch screwed in. The Bench and the west side from the 1950s to the 1980s carry the first drywall, a light orange peel, with ceilings sprayed before 1980 that are tested by a licensed lab before anyone sands them. Harris Ranch, Barber Valley, Columbia Village and the newer streets run orange peel, knockdown and the occasional smooth wall that forgives nothing.
Not the sky, most years. It is the hose-bib or irrigation line in a garage or exterior wall that freezes in a January cold snap, the water heater that lets go, the upstairs bath over the kitchen, and after a snowy winter the ice dam that backs water under the shingles and stains a top-floor ceiling in February. The plumber or the roofer fixes the source first, the board dries and reads dry on the meter, then we cut out the stained or soft section and replace it. Dark growth bigger than a dinner plate is a licensed mold remediation company's job before ours, and we say so on the call.
Orange peel is sprayed from a hopper gun, and the size of the splatter depends on the mix, the air pressure and how far the gun is from the wall; knockdown is the same spray left to set for the right number of minutes and then flattened with a wide knife. A patch finished in the wrong texture is the patch you can see from the doorway, so our technicians spray a test on a scrap board, hold it against your wall in raking light, adjust, and only then texture the repair and feather it out past the edge. On a smooth wall the same care goes into a wider feather and one more coat. Primer goes on last, and the paint is yours or our painting crew's.
Boise's oldest houses, bungalows and Victorians from the 1900s to the 1920s with lath and plaster walls and plaster ceilings, radiators and old supply lines in the walls, and the February ice dam on a steep roof. Plaster cracks along the lath, goes hollow at the keys and crumbles at the corners. Plaster patched as plaster, and a pre-1978 painted surface handled lead-safe by a certified firm.
Ranches and split-levels of the 1950s to 1980s: light orange peel on half-inch board, sprayed ceilings from before 1980 that get tested by a licensed lab before anyone disturbs them, nail pops from decades of dry air, the finished basement wall after the water heater, and corner bead dented by furniture. Forty years of patches to match, rebuilt with new bead.
The 1990s to 2010s tracts: truss lift along the upstairs ceiling line every winter, settling cracks at the window corners in the first years, orange peel and knockdown, smooth walls in the custom homes, two-story entries over eight feet priced after a look, and the attached garage wall after a frozen line. Association communities keep their schemes; the repair leaves primed for the matching color.
Hold your hand over the damage and tell us: smaller than your hand, bigger than your hand, poster-sized, or a whole sheet. We price it on the call, in writing, in under ten minutes.
Water damage is repaired after the source is fixed. If the stain is still wet we tell you who fixes the leak, and we schedule the drywall for when it is dry.
Backing where it needs it, new board cut to fit, every seam taped, three coats of compound sanded smooth, your texture matched, then primer.
Dust contained and the room left clean. Most patches are finished in one visit; a full sheet may need a short second visit for the final coat, scheduled before we leave.
Boise Planning and Development Services says the building code exempts interior work such as painting, floor covering and cabinets, and the Idaho residential code it enforces lists similar finish work and ordinary repairs as needing no permit. A drywall or plaster patch, a replaced sheet in an existing wall or a ceiling repair is that work. A new window or door opening, a removed wall or a framing change is a permit job, and in a historic district exterior work is reviewed first, so we say so before anyone opens a wall.
A line that split in a cold snap is a sudden loss and is usually covered; a drip that ran all winter under the sink usually is not, and the adjuster asks when it started and whether the house was kept heated. Photograph the stain and the source the day you find them, keep the plumber's or roofer's invoice, and we write the drywall scope as its own line so it reads cleanly beside theirs. We do not fix the line or the roof; new board goes in only after the meter says the framing is dry.
Nearly every Boise tract home has an attached garage, and the board between it and the house is not ordinary drywall: the residential code makes that wall and ceiling a fire separation, half-inch gypsum on the garage side and five-eighths Type X where a bedroom sits above the garage. When the frozen hose line soaks that wall, the replacement sheet is the same thickness and the same type, screwed and taped the way the code asks, and we say so on the estimate. Older houses have their own step: a North End or Bench ceiling sprayed before 1980 may carry asbestos and is sampled by a licensed lab before anyone scrapes it, with abatement by a licensed contractor if needed, and any painted surface from before 1978 is handled lead-safe by a certified firm.

Call 986-529-2600Say the size on the call and the written price comes back in minutes; the visit is scheduled from there. One visit finishes most patches. A garage wall that is still drying, a reattached plaster ceiling or a whole sheet gets a second short stop for the last coat, and that date is set before our technician leaves the first time.
Truss lift. The roof trusses arch as they dry in the cold attic and pull the ceiling away from the wall, so the tape at that corner cracks every winter through any amount of caulk. The fix is a corner that is allowed to move, or a crown line over the joint, and we explain which suits your ceiling on the call.
Yes. The newer tracts run orange peel and knockdown, the Bench a lighter orange peel, and the custom homes smooth. Each is matched on a test board against your wall before the repair is textured, then feathered out so there is no edge. The old patch shows because it was never textured; ours will not.
The plumber fixes the line, the wall dries and reads dry on the meter, then we cut out the soft board, check the framing, and hang new drywall of the same thickness, because that wall is the fire separation to the house. Taped, three coats, textured and primed.
Not for us. Lath and plaster is repaired as plaster: the loose edges are cut back, a bonding agent goes on, a setting compound is keyed into the lath, and the sand or skim finish is matched. What fails is a drywall patch screwed into a plaster wall, so we do not do that one. Paint in a house that age is handled lead-safe by a certified firm.
By four things you can tell us yourself: whether the damage is hand-sized, poster-sized or a whole sheet; whether water was involved; which texture is on the wall; and how high the ceiling is. Those four answers on the call produce a written price in minutes, before anything is scheduled.
Yes, by the room. Up to fifteen nail, screw and anchor holes in a room is one menu item: anchors pulled, each hole filled flush, orange peel or knockdown matched, primed and ready for the turnover paint. Knob holes and dented corners are priced by size on the same call.
