In Palm Beach County the Kaminskiy family has two companies for two kinds of work. Kaminskiy Care and Repair renovates room by room from our office on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard: a kitchen or bathroom refresh with new cabinets, counters and fixtures in a Northwood Hills block ranch, plaster and paint through an El Cid house, a seasonal home west of I-95 brought up to date between the owners' visits, a Flagler Drive condo turned over between tenants, a Wellington house made ready for a parent, each on one written scope with one crew. Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling takes the full remodels and additions, and we route you to the right company on the first call. Call 561-220-5884.
Refreshes and multi-day projects, priced in writing from Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.
A 1960s Northwood Hills block ranch has a plan worth keeping under a kitchen that is not. New cabinets, counters, a backsplash and lights change the room inside the same walls, which is a refresh. Several rooms on one calendar make a project: the Ibis house finished between the owners' visits, the Flagler Drive condo turned over, the El Cid house replastered and repainted with the porch rebuilt in kind. Move a wall, a drain or the panel and it is a remodel, which goes to Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling the day you call.
Each of those is one written scope from Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard. Call 561-220-5884. A room takes days; a whole house, often finished while you are north, comes with a schedule and photos as each room is done.

We answer in under three rings and get you priced and scheduled in minutes.

A clear, written quote with upfront pricing. You approve before work begins.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every job is backed in writing by our workmanship warranty and done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
Same layout, new cabinets, surfaces, fixtures and finishes: a refresh, ours. Several rooms on one schedule, a seasonal house done between visits, a condo turned over, a house readied for a parent: a project, ours. Walls, plumbing or wiring moving: a remodel, and in Palm Beach County that is Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling, our sister company, which we name on the first call.
Finishes and labor, not square footage, with stainless and sealed parts added near the lagoon. A Wellington kitchen that keeps its sink and range in place skips the permit and the licensed trade work, which is why its refresh costs a fraction of a remodel. Every line is written down before a date is set.
Repairs and rot first, then plaster and paint, then floors, then cabinets, fixtures and hardware, then trim. In an El Cid house the frames and sills come first: the licensed pest company has treated, we rebuild what was hollowed out, and only then does the finish work start. The wall is opened before the flooring is ordered.
Between May and October most of our projects run in empty houses: we hold a key, photograph each finished room and walk the house with you on video. In an occupied house it is one room at a time, floors protected, dust walled off, and the shutters and the storm plan kept from June to November.
Frame and Mediterranean Revival houses from the 1920s to the 1950s near the Intracoastal. Projects are kitchens and baths brought up to date behind the original walls, plaster skimmed instead of torn out, pine floors refinished, the porch rebuilt in kind. Inside the house is yours; the street face of a designated house goes through historic staff review, and an in-kind repair is the easy case.
Block ranch homes from the 1950s and 1960s with jalousie windows, carports and terrazzo under the carpet. The layouts are sound, so the work is the kitchen and baths refreshed in the footprint, terrazzo uncovered or covered, popcorn ceilings taken down, interior doors and hardware done through the house, and the enclosed carport finished properly as the room it became.
Gated communities from the 1990s on, stucco over block with the first owner's finishes, almost all in associations and many empty all summer. Projects are counters, backsplash, vanities, floors, paint and hardware changed across the house on one schedule, often while the owners are north, with the association's form handled where the project touches the outside.
A wall opened, a kitchen moved, an addition, a second story: that is design-and-build work, and in Palm Beach County it belongs to Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling, the licensed general contractor in the family. Describe the plan on the first call and we route it to the right company before we hang up, so you are never bounced between two bids.
A house in Ibis or a condo on Flagler Drive stands empty from May to October, and that is the right time to renovate it. We walk it before you leave, write every item up with a price, hold a key or a lockbox code, work the rooms in order through the summer and send photos as each is done. The written scope is the agreement, so nothing changes without your yes.
A unit downtown or on the lagoon comes back between tenants needing floors, paint, a kitchen and bath refresh and new doors. We price the list in writing, book the building's hours and elevator, and run it back to back. On a building of three stories or more the state's milestone inspection is the engineer's; the unit, the trim, the railings and the common-area list are ours, scoped for the board.
A curbless shower with new fixtures, grab bars into blocking, lever handles on every door, thresholds flattened, brighter light, a first-floor bedroom and bath. The family and our estimator plan it as one scope, it runs as one job, and the house is finished before the season starts.
Tell us what you want to change. Small refreshes are priced on the call. A multi-room project gets a walk-through from our Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard office within days.
Every room, every item, every finish on paper. You pick the fixtures, tile and colors, or we bring options. Nothing is ordered until you sign off.
Repairs first, then paint, floors, fixtures, trim. The same technicians through the whole West Palm Beach job, and a licensed trade brought in for the wiring or plumbing when the scope needs one.
We walk every room with you, leave the house clean, and every item carries our one-year workmanship warranty, on paper.
There is no such thing as a handyman license in Florida, which cuts both ways: the state lets anyone take on the carpentry, cabinets, counters, floors, paint, trim and doors a project needs, and it reserves the structure, the wiring, the plumbing, the air conditioning and the roof for its licensed contractors. Kaminskiy Care and Repair runs the first list, bonded and insured, with Kaminskiy-certified, background-checked technicians, brings in the licensed plumber and electrician for the fixtures and the wiring, and names them on the scope. A remodel goes to Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling, the licensed general contractor in the family.
West Palm Beach builds to the Florida Building Code with the county chapter, which lets the building official approve an ordinary minor repair without a permit and treats painting, flooring, cabinets and counters as finish work. A fixture in the same place is the licensed trade's repair. The permit question for a project starts when plumbing or wiring moves, a wall comes out, or an exterior door or window is replaced, which is permitted work with a product approval, as the city's own FAQ says. The county treats itself as one flood hazard area, so the 2026 state small-project exemption is not something we promise. We tell you which on the walk-through.
The city has eighteen locally designated districts, and any exterior change to a designated house gets historic staff review, with a Certificate of Appropriateness when the work changes how the house looks; the inside is not reviewed, and paint colors are not regulated. From June to November every exterior opening is a storm opening: a replacement exterior door or window here needs a permit and a Florida or Miami-Dade product approval, and any glass must be impact-rated or sit behind an approved shutter, so an opening in a project is specified and ordered that way.
On Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard. The Palm Beach County crews work out of the office on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, minutes from Northwood, El Cid and Flamingo Park, and cover the county from Jupiter to Wellington. Since 2023 that has meant 44 repair visits on 35 West Palm Beach homes. Call 561-220-5884 with the rooms or the photos. The whole county is on our West Palm Beach handyman page.
Can't find your answer? Call 561-220-5884 and ask us anything.
Call 561-220-5884It depends on whether anything moves. New cabinets, counters, a vanity, floors, paint, plaster and hardware in the layout you have is a renovation, and that is Kaminskiy Care and Repair. Walls, pipes or wiring moving, an addition, a whole-house gut is a remodel, and that is Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling. Call either number and we route you to the right one on the first call.
From the finishes you choose and the labor it needs, never from square footage. One room is usually priced off photos and a short call. Several rooms get a walk-through from Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and a written scope with a price on every line, which you approve before anything is ordered. Call 561-220-5884 to start.
The licensed plumber, and the licensed electrician wires the new light and fan; Florida reserves that work for them, so we book them into the scope and coordinate the days. The vanity, the mirror, the shower door, the tile, the paint, the trim and the door are ours. One call, one schedule.
That is how most seasonal owners here do it. We walk the house before you leave, you approve the written scope, we hold a key or a lockbox code, and the rooms are finished in order through the summer with photos as each is done. Nothing changes without your yes, and we walk the finished house with you on video or the day you land.
Not the finish work: painting, flooring, cabinets, counters, and a fixture replaced in the same spot by the licensed trade. A permit comes in when plumbing or wiring moves, a wall comes out or an exterior door or window is replaced, which here means a product approval too. We settle it on the walk-through and pull the permit when one is needed.
Yes. In El Cid, Flamingo Park, Grandview Heights and Old Northwood the city reviews changes to the outside of a designated house, not the kitchen, the baths, the floors or the paint inside. Where a project touches the street face, an in-kind repair is the easy case, and we give you the materials and profile in writing for the review.
