Posts reset, pickets matched, rusted coastal hardware replaced. Priced on the call, usually finished in one visit.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair repairs wood fences and gates across Orange County, from the beach cities and the Irvine villages to the south county hills and the older tracts in Orange, Tustin and Anaheim. Posts rotted at the ground are reset in fresh concrete, broken pickets and rails are matched, rusted hardware is replaced, and gates that drag are rehung square, usually in one visit. You get the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled, and we keep every board that is still sound. Since 2005, from our Orange County office on Michelson Drive in Irvine.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced before we come out.
Salt air at the coast, sun and sprinklers inland, hillside wind in the south county and an association on most streets: every corner of Orange County wears its fences down a little differently. We reset the posts, match the wood and the stain, and rehang the gate so it latches with one hand. Same fence, standing straight.

Three ways, depending on where the house sits. At the coast the salt air takes the hinges, latches and rail screws first. Inland, the 1960s and 1970s tracts stand on their original posts, watered by sprinklers ever since, and the post rots at the ground line while the pickets above still look fine. In the south county hills a fence on a slope carries its own weight downhill, and one rotted post lets a whole section rack. The fix is new posts in concrete, the right hardware and matched boards, not a new fence.
A like-for-like repair needs nothing. California exempts fences up to seven feet from a building permit, and every Orange County city keeps a front-yard fence somewhere around three and a half feet and a side or rear fence at six; Irvine, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo and Laguna Niguel each write it a little differently, and the unincorporated county has its own numbers. We check the city before building anything new.
Reset posts and matching pickets fix most fences for a fraction of the cost of a new one, and that is the work we do. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl and iron are not our lane. If that is what the fence needs, we say so on the call, and we still fix the gate and the sections that can be saved.
A pool gate should close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches up. That is the standard in California's Swimming Pool Safety Act, and it is the first thing we check on a pool fence. The gap the dog found at the bottom is a rail and a picket, fixed in the same visit.
Salt air gets the hardware before it gets the wood. Hinges seize, latches stop catching, and the screws holding the rails let go within a few seasons of plain steel. The marine layer keeps the base of each post damp, so the rot starts at grade. The fix is a new post, new rails and coated hardware, with the sound pickets kept.
Fences from the 1960s and 1970s on posts that have spent fifty years in irrigated soil. The pickets often look fine; the fence leans because the posts are gone at the ground line. Resetting the failed posts brings the whole line back straight without replacing the fence.
Planned communities with association standards, slope lots and builder fences set shallow. One rotted post lets a section rack. We reset it deeper in concrete, re-plumb the run and match the profile, spacing and stain the HOA expects.
We price the repair on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled.
Posts, rails, pickets, hardware and concrete come along, so a post reset, a picket swap or a gate rehang is finished the same day we arrive.
A gate that is done gets a new single wood gate built on site, up to four feet wide. A fallen section is rebuilt on the existing posts.
The work area is cleaned before we leave, and every repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty.
California exempts fences up to seven feet from a building permit. Each Orange County city sets its own heights, and they run close: a front-yard fence around 42 inches, a side or rear fence at six feet, corner sight triangles kept low; Irvine caps a setback fence at seven feet, Newport Beach allows five in front on the islands with an open top, and the unincorporated county has its own table. A like-for-like repair changes nothing, and we check the city before building anything new.
California's Swimming Pool Safety Act expects a pool barrier gate to close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches above the ground. If your pool gate drags open or the latch no longer catches, that is the first thing we fix.
Most of the planned communities from Irvine south are association streets, and most do not need to approve a repair that matches the existing fence. A new gate, a new section or a different stain sometimes needs a form. We can give you the materials and finish in writing for it.

Yes. Most fence and gate repairs are exactly handyman work: posts, rails, pickets, hinges and latches. Kaminskiy is licensed, bonded and insured, so a rebuilt section or a new gate is not a problem either.
It depends on three things: how many posts have failed, how much wood needs replacing, and how easy the fence is to reach. Tell us what the fence is doing, or text a photo, and we give you the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled. No surprises at the house.
No. We repair wood fences and gates: posts, pickets, rails, sections, gates and staining. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl fencing, iron work and electric gate openers are not our lane. If your fence needs one of those, we tell you on the call and still fix what can be saved.
Yes. We match the picket profile, the spacing and the stain. New pressure-treated boards weather to match the rest of the fence within a season, or we stain them to match on the day.
A repair that matches the existing fence rarely needs anything. California exempts fences up to seven feet from a building permit, and the county's cities keep side and rear fences to six feet. A new gate, a new section or a different color sometimes needs an HOA form, and we can put the materials and finish in writing for it.
