Posts reset, pickets matched, sagging gates rehung square. Priced on the call, usually finished in one visit.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair repairs wood fences and gates across Los Angeles, from the Westside and the Palisades to Mid-City, Los Feliz, Silver Lake and the hillside streets above Sunset. Posts rotted at the ground are reset in fresh concrete, broken pickets and rails are matched, and gates that drag are rehung square, usually in one visit. You get the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled, and we keep every board that is still sound. Since 2005, from our office on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced before we come out.
Hillside slopes, sprinklers at the base of every post and decades-old fences on small city lots wear a Los Angeles fence down from the ground up. We reset the posts, match the wood, and rehang the gate so it latches with one hand. Same fence, standing straight.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every fence and gate repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty, in writing, and is done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
From the ground up. Most Los Angeles fences stand on posts set in soil or a thin collar of concrete, and decades of sprinklers and subterranean termites hollow them at grade while the pickets above still look fine. On the hillside streets a fence carries its own weight downhill, and one rotted post lets a whole section rack; the dry winds in the fall finish it. The fix is new posts in concrete and matched boards, not a new fence.
In the City of Los Angeles a wood fence needs no building permit unless it is over ten feet, and a masonry one over three and a half; the zoning code keeps a front-yard fence to three and a half feet and a side or rear fence to six. A like-for-like repair changes nothing, and we check before building anything new.
Reset posts and matching pickets fix most fences for a fraction of the cost of a new one, and that is the work we do. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl and iron are not our lane. If that is what the fence needs, we say so on the call, and we still fix the gate and the sections that can be saved.
A pool gate should close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches up. That is the standard in California's Swimming Pool Safety Act, and it is the first thing we check on a pool fence. The gap the dog found at the bottom is a rail and a picket, fixed in the same visit.
Small lots, old fences and posts set in soil decades ago. The pickets often look fine; the fence leans because the posts are gone at the ground line, and the gate drags because the hinge post went first. Resetting the failed posts brings the whole line back straight without replacing the fence.
Slopes, retaining walls and fences that carry their own weight downhill. One rotted post lets a section rack, and the dry fall winds finish it. We reset the post deeper in concrete, re-plumb the run and brace the gate so it stops dragging on the steps.
Closer to the water the marine layer keeps the posts damp and the salt air takes the hinges and latches. We replace rusted hardware with coated or stainless, reset the posts that have gone and match the wood, with the sound pickets kept.
We price the repair on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled.
Posts, rails, pickets, hardware and concrete come along, so a post reset, a picket swap or a gate rehang is finished the same day we arrive.
A gate that is done gets a new single wood gate built on site, up to four feet wide. A fallen section is rebuilt on the existing posts.
The work area is cleaned before we leave, and every repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty.
In the City of Los Angeles a fence in the front yard is limited to three and a half feet and a side or rear fence to six feet (eight on some lots), and a building permit is needed only for a masonry fence over three and a half feet or any other fence over ten feet (LADBS). A like-for-like repair changes nothing; the zoning rules still apply to anything new, and we check before building it.
California's Swimming Pool Safety Act expects a pool barrier gate to close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches above the ground. If your pool gate drags open or the latch no longer catches, that is the first thing we fix.
Most of Los Angeles has no association; the hillside and Westside communities that do rarely need to approve a repair that matches the existing fence. A new gate, a new section or a different stain sometimes needs a form, and we can give you the materials and finish in writing for it.

Yes. Most fence and gate repairs are exactly handyman work: posts, rails, pickets, hinges and latches. Kaminskiy is licensed, bonded and insured, so a rebuilt section or a new gate is not a problem either.
It depends on three things: how many posts have failed, how much wood needs replacing, and how easy the fence is to reach. Tell us what the fence is doing, or text a photo, and we give you the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled. No surprises at the house.
Yes. We reset the post deeper and in more concrete than the original, re-plumb the run against the slope and brace the gate. If the slope itself has moved, we say so on the call; that is a retaining-wall job, not a fence job.
No. We repair wood fences and gates: posts, pickets, rails, sections, gates and staining. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl fencing, iron work and electric gate openers are not our lane. If your fence needs one of those, we tell you on the call and still fix what can be saved.
