Posts reset on the slope, wood matched, sagging gates rehung square. Priced on the call, usually finished in one visit.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair repairs wood fences and gates across Lafayette, from Happy Valley and Reliez Valley to Burton Valley, the Trail neighborhood and the streets around the Reservoir. Posts rotted at the ground are reset in fresh concrete, broken pickets and rails are matched, and gates that drag are rehung square, usually in one visit. You get the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled, and we keep every board that is still sound. Since 2005, from our office on Quail Court in Walnut Creek.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced before we come out.
Oak shade that never lets the wood dry, hillside lots and long fences on the slope wear a Lafayette fence down. We reset the posts, match the wood, and rehang the gate so it latches with one hand. Same fence, standing straight.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every fence and gate repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty, in writing, and is done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
Shade and slope. Lafayette is oak country, and a fence under the trees stays damp from November to April, so the posts rot at the ground line and the boards go soft at the bottom. On a hillside lot the fence carries its own weight downhill, and one rotted post lets a whole section rack. The fix is a deeper post in fresh concrete, a re-plumbed run and matched boards, not a new fence.
Not for a repair. Lafayette lists fences up to seven feet as exempt from a building permit and keeps fences in the required yards to six feet. Like-for-like repair on a hillside lot is exempt from the hillside permit too; we check before building anything new, or digging new post holes near a protected oak.
Reset posts and matching pickets fix most fences for a fraction of the cost of a new one, and that is the work we do. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl and iron are not our lane. If that is what the fence needs, we say so on the call, and we still fix the gate and the sections that can be saved.
A pool gate should close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches up. That is the standard in California's Swimming Pool Safety Act, and it is the first thing we check on a pool fence. The gap the dog found at the bottom is a rail and a picket, fixed in the same visit.
Big hillside lots, long fences and oaks over most of them. The posts on the downhill side go first and the run racks. We reset them deeper in concrete, re-plumb the run and brace the gate so it stops dragging.
Older fences between neighbors on smaller lots, shaded and never quite dry. The bottoms of the boards go soft and the posts rot at grade. We replace what has gone, keep what is sound and match the wood.
Family streets with pools, side gates and fences along the creek. The pool gate stops closing on its own and the hinge post leans. We reset the post and rehang the gate so it closes and latches every time.
We price the repair on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled.
Posts, rails, pickets, hardware and concrete come along, so a post reset, a picket swap or a gate rehang is finished the same day we arrive.
A gate that is done gets a new single wood gate built on site, up to four feet wide. A fallen section is rebuilt on the existing posts.
The work area is cleaned before we leave, and every repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty.
Lafayette keeps a fence in any required yard to six feet, measured on the taller side, and lists fences up to seven feet as exempt from a building permit. Within 25 feet of a corner a fence stays low enough to see over. In the hillside overlay, routine repair that does not change how the fence looks needs no hillside permit, and native oaks of 12 inches and up are protected, so new post holes near one we check first.
California's Swimming Pool Safety Act expects a pool barrier gate to close and latch on its own, with the latch release at least 60 inches above the ground. If your pool gate drags open or the latch no longer catches, that is the first thing we fix.
Much of Lafayette has no association; the city's hillside and tree rules do that work. Where an HOA does run the street, a repair that matches the existing fence rarely needs approval, and we can give you the materials and finish in writing for a form.

Call 925-302-5955We answer in under three rings, price most fence and gate repairs on the call, and usually schedule within days. The technician brings posts, rails, pickets, hardware and concrete, so a post reset, a picket swap or a gate rehang is finished in one visit.
Yes. Most fence and gate repairs are exactly handyman work: posts, rails, pickets, hinges and latches. Kaminskiy is licensed, bonded and insured, so a rebuilt section or a new gate is not a problem either.
It depends on three things: how many posts have failed, how much wood needs replacing, and how easy the fence is to reach. Tell us what the fence is doing, or text a photo, and we give you the price on the call, in writing, before anything is scheduled. No surprises at the house.
Yes. We reset the post deeper and in more concrete than the original, re-plumb the run against the slope and brace the gate. If the slope itself has moved, we say so on the call; that is a retaining-wall job, not a fence job.
No. We repair wood fences and gates: posts, pickets, rails, sections, gates and staining. Whole-fence replacement, vinyl fencing, iron work and electric gate openers are not our lane. If your fence needs one of those, we tell you on the call and still fix what can be saved.
Not a like-for-like repair. Lafayette lists fences up to seven feet as exempt from a building permit, and routine repair in the hillside area needs no hillside permit. New post holes under a protected oak are the one thing we check with the city first.
