Adobe clay under the whole valley, so the crack over the door opens every fall; we tape it so it stays shut, match the knockdown or orange peel, patch Old Town plaster as plaster and prime. Priced on the call.

Kaminskiy Care and Repair patches and finishes drywall in Danville homes from its Walnut Creek office twenty minutes up the 680, and the first thing we ask is the month: a crack over a door that opens in October and closes by April is the valley's adobe clay swelling with the rain, and it is taped so it stays closed, not caulked. The rest of the list comes with it: the knob hole in a Greenbrook hallway, the ring on a Sycamore Valley ceiling under the hall bath, a hairline off a window corner in Tassajara Ranch after a small shake on the Calaveras fault, the plaster corner in an Old Town house from the 1920s, the anchor holes after a Crow Canyon rental. New board or new plaster where it is needed, taped, three coats, knockdown or orange peel matched on a test board, primer. Water waits for the plumber and a dry meter. The price is in writing on the call. Since 2023 our technicians have completed 233 repair visits on 104 Danville homes.
Eight repairs, one crew, priced in writing before we start.
Danville sits on some of the heaviest clay in the county, and the houses say so every year: doors that rub in January and swing free in August, the crack over the hall door that opens every fall, a tile floor that hums in winter. Add the Calaveras fault running the length of the valley, the knockdown of the villages built since 1990 off Camino Tassajara, orange peel on the 1970s streets and plaster in Old Town. Our technicians match all four finishes and tell you honestly which crack is the season and which deserves a second look.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every drywall repair carries our one-year workmanship warranty, in writing, and is done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
The San Ramon Valley floor is adobe clay, among the most expansive soils in the county. It takes on water through the winter rain and lifts the edges of a slab, then dries through the summer and lets them down, and the house moves with it twice a year. Drywall shows the movement where the sheets were cut, at the top corners of doors and windows, so the crack opens in October and closes by April; doors rub in winter and swing free in August. The repair is paper tape, three coats and a wide feather, which rides the movement; caulk and spackle do not. A crack that is wider each year or that steps across the wall belongs to a foundation or drainage professional, and we say so.
The villages built since 1990 off Camino Tassajara, Tassajara Ranch, Bettencourt Ranch and the Blackhawk streets, carry knockdown, and matching it is a matter of timing: spray the right size of splatter, wait the right number of minutes, knock it down with the width of knife the original finisher used. Greenbrook, Sycamore Valley and Shadow Creek from the 1970s and 1980s run a medium orange peel; the custom houses of Diablo and the remodels are smooth. Every one is tried on a scrap board against the wall before the repair is textured.
Old Town Danville and the Diablo Road streets have wood houses from the 1900s through the 1940s, and their walls are lath and plaster: the crack runs with the lath, the keys behind it snap and a patch of wall goes hollow, the outside corners chip away. We key new plaster back to the lath with a bonding agent and a setting-type compound and bring the surface up to the coat around it; a drywall square screwed into plaster is the patch that falls out. Paint from before 1978 can carry lead, so a certified crew disturbs it lead-safe, and a ceiling sprayed before 1980 is tested by a licensed lab before anyone sands it.
The Calaveras fault runs the length of the San Ramon Valley, and a small shake opens hairline cracks at the corners of doors and windows and sometimes along a ceiling seam; those are taped, filled and textured like any other crack, and they do not come back. A crack that runs through the foundation, grows after the shake, or opens a gap at the floor line is an engineer's question before it is ours, and we tell you that on the first look rather than sell a patch.
Wood houses from the early 1900s through the 1950s with lath and plaster walls, sand and smooth finishes, ceilings sprayed before 1980 in the post-war additions that are tested by a licensed lab before a patch, and painted surfaces from before 1978 handled lead-safe. Plaster patched as plaster, drywall as drywall, and the crack along the lath keyed back to it.
1970s and 1980s stucco homes on the valley's heaviest clay: the autumn crack at the door and window corners, doors that rub in winter, truss lift along the upstairs ceiling in August, the hall bath over the family room, medium orange peel to match, and the first attached garages whose wall to the house is fire separation. Taped so it stays closed, and the garage wall patched with the board the code asks for.
Villages built since 1990 in knockdown under association rules, custom homes in smooth, two-story entries over eight feet priced after a look, settling cracks at the window corners in the first years, and hairlines after a small shake on the fault. Blackhawk and Diablo are county land with their own permit desk. The HOA color stays; the repair leaves primed for it.
Danville is one stop for a crew that covers the whole Bay from Walnut Creek and Sunnyvale; the Bay Area drywall repair page lays out the regional picture and every city's permit sheet in plain words.
Hold your hand over the damage and tell us: smaller than your hand, bigger than your hand, poster-sized, or a whole sheet. We price it on the call, in writing, in under ten minutes.
Water damage is repaired after the source is fixed. If the stain is still wet we tell you who fixes the leak, and we schedule the drywall for when it is dry.
Backing where it needs it, new board cut to fit, every seam taped, three coats of compound sanded smooth, your texture matched, then primer.
Dust contained and the room left clean. Most patches are finished in one visit; a full sheet may need a short second visit for the final coat, scheduled before we leave.
Danville reads its rule tightly: the town's Building FAQ says a permit is required for most construction and repair projects and lists alterations, remodels and repairs among them. The California Residential Code the town builds to still puts painting, papering and similar finish work outside the permit, and ordinary repairs need no application under it; patching a wall, hanging a new sheet inside an existing wall or repairing a ceiling sits on that side of the line. Cutting a new doorway, taking out a wall or touching framing sits on the other side and gets a permit, and for anything in between we ask the town before we price it. Blackhawk and Diablo are county land and the county inspects them.
In a two-story the water comes from above, and the ring on the family room ceiling is the last thing to appear. California's insurance department tells homeowners that a sudden and accidental discharge is the kind of water loss a policy usually pays for, while seepage, a long-running leak and plain wear are the kinds it usually does not, which is why the adjuster's first question is the date. Take dated photos of the ring and of the pipe or pan that caused it, keep the plumber's invoice, and our drywall scope comes to you as a separate line that can go straight into the claim. The plumber stops the leak, the ceiling dries and meters dry, then we replace the board.
Most of Danville's planned streets, and Blackhawk and Diablo next door, have associations with exterior standards; an interior drywall repair needs no approval, and a shared wall in the attached products, or water from the unit above, is settled by the CC&Rs and the association's insurance with California Civil Code 4775 as the default, so we repair your side and write the scope separately. The wall and ceiling between the house and an attached garage are fire separation under the state code, half-inch board on the garage side and five-eighths Type X under a room above, and a full-sheet repair there goes back with the same board.

Call 925-302-5955The van is twenty minutes up the 680 from Walnut Creek, so a Danville crack, hole or ceiling ring is normally on the schedule within days of the call that priced it. Most patches are finished in one visit; a whole sheet or an Old Town plaster repair sometimes takes a short second trip for the last coat.
The clay. The San Ramon Valley floor swells with the winter rain and lifts the slab edges, then dries and lets them down in summer, and the house moves with it. The crack is taped with paper, three coats and a wide feather so it rides the movement and stays closed; the door is a separate, quick fix. A crack that is wider each year is a foundation question, and we tell you that.
Yes. The splatter size, the minutes before the knife goes on and the width of that knife are what make one knockdown look different from the next, and we set all three on a scrap of board held up to your wall before anything touches the repair. The old patch shows because somebody skipped the waiting; ours will not.
Usually not. A small shake on the Calaveras fault opens hairlines at the corners of openings, and those are taped, filled and textured like any other crack. If the crack runs into the foundation, keeps growing after the shake or opens a gap at the floor line, we tell you to have an engineer look before anyone patches it.
Yes. Plaster is repaired with a bonding agent and a setting compound keyed into the lath, then finished to the sand or smooth coat around it. A drywall patch screwed into plaster is the repair that fails, and we do not do that one. Painted surfaces from before 1978 are handled lead-safe by a certified crew.
How big the damage is next to your hand, whether it got wet, which finish has to be matched and how far up the wall or ceiling it sits; a knob hole in Greenbrook orange peel and a stained two-story entry ceiling in Tassajara knockdown are not the same visit. Answer those four on the call and the number comes back in writing inside ten minutes.
Not an interior one. A shared wall in an attached home, or water from the unit above, is a question for the CC&Rs and the association's insurance, and we write the scope as its own line so the board or the adjuster can read it. Nothing on the exterior is touched.
