Kaminskiy Care and Repair renovates San Diego homes room by room, and takes on the larger projects a handyman list grows into: a kitchen or bathroom refresh with new fixtures installed, new floors, paint and trim, a rental turnover, the repairs a balcony inspection report calls out, or an aging-in-place package. One crew, one written scope, run from our office on World Trade Drive. A full gut remodel or an addition goes to our sister company, Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling, and we say so on the first call. Call 858-330-5590.
Refreshes and multi-day projects, priced in writing from World Trade Drive.
Most San Diego rooms do not need to be gutted. A 1980s Rancho Bernardo kitchen with a sound layout wants new counters, hardware, a backsplash and paint, not a new floor plan. A refresh like that is our work, and so is the multi-day project list: the whole rental turned over, the balcony report cleared, the hall bath rebuilt with new fixtures. When a room needs walls or plumbing moved, that is a remodel, and we hand it to Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling on the first call instead of guessing.
Every one of these is a project Kaminskiy Care and Repair runs from one written scope. Call 858-330-5590. A single room is usually finished in days. A multi-day project gets a schedule you see before we start.

We answer in under three rings and get you priced and scheduled in minutes.

A clear, written quote with upfront pricing. You approve before work begins.

Kaminskiy-certified pros finish the job with a workmanship warranty.
Every job is backed in writing by our workmanship warranty and done by a Kaminskiy-certified, background checked technician.
A refresh keeps the layout and installs new surfaces, fixtures and finishes. A project is several refreshes, or one repair, that take more than a few days: a whole rental, a balcony report, a house made ready for a parent. A remodel moves walls, plumbing or electrical. In San Diego we do the first two and hand the third to Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling.
Labor and finishes set the price, not the size of the room. Keeping the sink, the tub and the range where they are saves the permit and the trade work, and it is why a refresh in a Mira Mesa tract house costs a fraction of a remodel of the same kitchen. We put every line in writing before anything is scheduled.
Repairs and rot first, then paint, then floors, then fixtures and hardware, then trim and touch up. Done out of order, every step damages the last one. In an older Kensington house the first step is often the surprise behind the wall, so we open the wall before we order the floor.
One room at a time, floors covered, the dust walled off, tools out of the hallway at night. On a turnover the unit is empty and we run the trades back to back. In a lived-in house we plan the kitchen so you have a sink and a working stove every evening.
Beach cottages, 1960s duplexes and condo buildings a block from the water. The projects here are rental turnovers between tenants, kitchens where the salt has eaten the hinges and the faucet, and the balcony and walkway repairs the inspection law now requires on the three-unit-and-up buildings. We specify stainless hardware, sealed edges and finishes that take the marine layer.
Stucco homes from the 1970s on, most in associations, many with the original kitchen and baths. The layouts are sound, so the work is a refresh: counters, backsplash, vanity, floors, paint and the hardware swapped across the house in one schedule. Where the association has a say, we put the materials and colors in writing for the form before we order anything.
Craftsman bungalows and 1950s ranch homes with plaster walls, original doors and hardwood under the carpet. Here a project starts with what is behind the wall: knob-and-tube wiring and galvanized pipe for the licensed electrician and plumber to replace, settled framing for us. We refinish and match what can be saved and keep the original where it earns its place.
A new floor plan, a wall coming out, a kitchen moving across the room, an addition or an accessory unit: that is a remodel, and it belongs to our sister company, Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling, which designs and builds those projects in San Diego. Tell us what you want on the first call and we route it to the right company before we hang up. You do not get bounced between two bids.
California's balcony law requires inspections of the decks, balconies, stairs and walkways on apartment buildings with three or more units, and condo associations have their own version. The inspection and the report come from Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling. The repairs the report lists, joists, railings, boards, waterproofing, are our work, permitted through the City and documented for your file.
A unit in Clairemont or Pacific Beach comes back with holes in the drywall, a tired kitchen and carpet that has to go. We walk it the day it empties, price the whole list in writing, and run paint, floors, fixtures and hardware back to back so the unit is listed in days, not weeks. One vendor, one invoice, every door photographed.
Grab bars, a curbless shower with new fixtures, lever handles on every door, a ramp at the step, brighter lighting and a first-floor bedroom made ready. We plan it as one scope with the family, not as six separate visits, so the house is ready the week the parents arrive.
Tell us what you want to change. Small refreshes are priced on the call. A multi-room project gets a walk-through from our San Diego office within days.
Every room, every item, every finish on paper. You pick the fixtures, tile and colors, or we bring options. Nothing is ordered until you sign off.
Repairs first, then paint, floors, fixtures, trim. The same technicians through the whole job, and a licensed trade brought in for the wiring or plumbing when the scope needs one.
We walk every room with you, leave the house clean, and every item carries our one-year workmanship warranty, on paper.
California lets anyone take a repair job under a set small amount without a license, as long as it needs no permit. A renovation project crosses that line on the first day. Kaminskiy Care and Repair holds a California contractor license (License #1106209), carries the insurance, and puts every project on a written home improvement contract before it starts, with the scope, the schedule and the price on it, which the state requires of any job that size.
The City of San Diego treats painting, floor covering and cabinet work as cosmetic: no permit. New fixtures in the same place, a vanity, a faucet, a toilet, a light in an existing box, are repairs. A permit is needed the moment plumbing or wiring moves, a wall comes out, or a window opening changes, and like-for-like damage repair of a balcony or a stair goes on the City's no-plan permit with an inspection. We tell you which on the walk-through, and the other cities in the county keep their own lists.
In Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, Carmel Valley and 4S Ranch the association usually has nothing to say about an interior refresh and plenty to say about a new front door color or a changed railing, so we put the materials in writing for the form. Condo associations and apartment owners carry California's balcony inspection law: once the report names a railing, a deck board or a joist, that repair is on a clock, and we schedule it that way.
Run from World Trade Drive. Our San Diego crews dispatch from the Rancho Bernardo office to the whole county, La Jolla to San Marcos. Since 2018 our technicians have completed 7,691 repair visits on 3,488 San Diego homes. Call 858-330-5590 and tell us about the project. The whole county is on our San Diego handyman page.

Call 858-330-5590A renovation keeps the layout and installs new surfaces, fixtures and finishes: counters, a vanity, floors, paint, trim, hardware. A remodel moves walls, plumbing or electrical. If your San Diego kitchen works and just looks thirty years old, you need the first, and it costs a fraction of the second. If you want the kitchen somewhere else, you need the second, and we hand it to Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling on the call.
It depends on the finishes you choose and the labor the room needs, not on its size, so we do not quote by the square foot. A single-room refresh is usually priced from photos and a short call. A multi-room project gets a walk-through and a written scope with every line on it. You approve the price before anything is ordered. Call 858-330-5590 and we start there.
Yes, that is the point. Paint, floors, fixtures, trim, doors, closets and the repairs underneath are all our trades, so one crew runs the list in the right order on one schedule. When a scope needs a licensed electrician or plumber, we bring them in and coordinate the days, so you still have one call to make.
Usually not. The City of San Diego treats painting, floor covering and cabinet work as cosmetic, and new fixtures in the same place as repairs. The permit question starts when plumbing or wiring moves, a wall comes out or an opening changes, and for balcony and stair repairs, which go on the City's no-plan permit with an inspection. We tell you on the walk-through, and we pull the permit when one is needed.
A hall bath with a new vanity, faucet, toilet, shower door, fan and paint is usually a few working days once the fixtures are on site. Tile and a shower rebuild add to that. We give you the schedule in the written scope, and we do not promise a date before we have seen the room.
The inspection and the report come from Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling, which performs the inspections California's balcony law requires. The repairs the report calls out, railings, boards, joists, waterproofing, are done by Kaminskiy Care and Repair, permitted through the City and documented for your file. Send us the report and we price from it.
