THE SHORT ANSWER

Carpentry is the trade where the gap between good and adequate is visible from across the room. A miter that opens up in winter, a panel line that drifts off level, a wall that is square on paper and not in the room.

CARPENTRY & TRIM

Professional Carpentry Services Nationwide

Carpentry is the trade where the gap between good and adequate is visible from across the room. A miter that opens up in winter, a panel line that drifts off level, a wall that is square on paper and not in the room. Our carpenters cut, fit, and fasten so the work still looks right in five years.

Professional Solutions

Almost no house is truly square, level, or plumb, and that is the whole problem carpentry has to solve. Trim cut to the number on the tape will show a gap at the wall; trim scribed and coped to the surface that is actually there will not. The same is true one layer down, where a partition wall built without checking the ceiling line telegraphs through every piece of finish work that follows. Kaminskiy Care and Repair handles both ends of that range, from crown molding and wainscoting to framing, wall construction, and structural carpentry, with crews across the United States.

Why Choose Kaminskiy for Carpentry

The most important thing about aging in place modifications is that they actually hold when they are needed. A grab bar that pulls out of a wall when a person reaches for it during a fall is worse than no grab bar, it creates false confidence and then fails in the exact moment it matters. Every modification we install is backed into framing or blocking, fastened to specification, and load-tested before we leave.

Coped, Not Just Mitered:

Inside corners are coped so seasonal movement closes the joint instead of opening it. A mitered inside corner is the reason most crown shows a crack by the second winter.

Scribed to the Real Wall:

We fit to the surface in front of us, not to the dimension on the plan, so panels and casings sit tight against walls and floors that are not perfectly true.

Fastened Into Framing:

Trim, panels, and built-ins are located to studs and blocking. Anything carrying weight gets backing added before it goes up, not drywall anchors after.

1-Year Warranty:

We stand behind our carpentry workmanship across every service on this page.

Choose Kaminskiy for seamless patches, straight lines, and finishes that blend perfectly. We’re not just covering damage, we’re restoring the smooth, durable surfaces your rooms deserve.

Our Carpentry & Trim Services

Crown Molding Installation & Repair

Crown is the least forgiving trim in the house because it meets two surfaces at an angle and every wall it crosses is a little different. Corners get coped, long walls get a scarf joint over a stud, and the whole run is caulked and finished so it reads as one continuous line.

  • Single-piece and built-up multi-piece crown profiles
  • Coped inside corners and glued outside miters
  • Scarf joints landed on framing, never floating on drywall
  • Cabinet, soffit, and vaulted ceiling transitions
  • Repair of separated, cracked, or sagging existing crown

Wainscoting & Wall Panel Installation

Panel work is layout work. Frames have to be spaced so the pattern lands evenly at both ends of the wall and steps correctly around doors, outlets, and returns. We draw the layout on the wall before a single piece is cut.

  • Board and batten, shiplap, beadboard, and raised panel
  • Picture frame molding laid out to balance on the wall
  • Accent walls and stair-run paneling that follows the rake
  • Chair rail and cap detail integrated with existing baseboard
  • Outlets and switches reset flush with the new panel depth

Window Casing Installation & Repair

Casing hides the gap between the window unit and the framing, which means it also hides whether that gap was ever insulated and sealed. We check behind the old trim before the new trim goes on, because a draft is cheaper to fix while the wall is open.

  • Mitered and butt-and-block casing profiles
  • Stool and apron sills built and returned properly
  • Rough opening sealed and insulated before trim goes back
  • Jamb extensions where drywall depth changed
  • Repair of split, rotted, or previously butchered casing

Carpentry Construction Services

Building something new, indoors or out, where the structure has to carry a real load. Stairs, decks, pergolas, closets, and built-ins are all layout-and-load problems before they are finish problems, and getting the first part wrong cannot be sanded out later.

  • Interior and exterior stair construction with even rise and run
  • Deck, pergola, and outdoor structure framing
  • Built-in shelving, bookcases, and window seats
  • Closet systems and room divider construction
  • Mudroom and entryway benches, hooks, and cubbies

Carpentry Remodeling Services

Carpentry inside an existing house, where the job is matching what is already there. Profiles that are no longer sold, floors that slope, and additions framed to a different standard all have to be reconciled so the new work does not announce where it starts.

  • Existing trim profiles matched or milled to match
  • Door and window openings resized, moved, or closed in
  • Damaged framing, subfloor, and sistered joist repair
  • Transitions between original construction and additions
  • Finish millwork and architectural detail rebuilt to period

Wall Installation & Framing

Adding a wall is straightforward. Removing one is not, and the difference is whether it carries load from above. We determine that first, then either build the partition or engineer the opening with a header sized for the span.

  • Load-bearing determination before anything is opened
  • Interior partition walls plumbed, plated, and blocked
  • Basement and garage room framing over concrete
  • Backing and blocking added for cabinets, TVs, and grab bars
  • Insulation and drywall to a finished, paint-ready surface

THE HOMEOWNER GUIDE

Know how it works before
you call anyone

One call, whole house

Doors, drywall, fences, decks, paint, fixtures, and the fifty small things in between. The point of a real handyman company is that one call covers the list, one crew shows up, and one standard applies to all of it.

Employees, not subs

Our technicians are background checked employees in Kaminskiy uniforms, not a rotating cast of subcontractors. That is why the quality is consistent, why the warranty means something, and why we can put our name on the door of the van.

How pricing works

Call, describe the job, and most work is priced and scheduled in under 10 minutes. You get the number in writing before anyone starts, and the price you approve is the price you pay. No hourly meter running in your hallway.

Bundle the list

The smartest way to use us is to save the list. Five small jobs in one visit beats five separate service calls in cost and in hassle. Walk the house, write it down, and hand the whole thing to one crew.

Yes, and it should. Bundle the list. One trip charge, one crew, and the whole list shrinks at once.

Very little. Major sewer and gas work, and glass panel replacement, go to the right specialists, and we tell you honestly when that is the case.

We answer in under three rings, price most work over the phone, and usually schedule within days, not weeks.
